I finally got a bonnet pad installed. Some cars came with them; mine did not. I can say that it absolutely reduces the road noise, as heard in the cabin.
I think the OP means the sound proofing under the bonnet. Some had the insulation where others just had the painted underside of the bonnet . Looks like some were missed fortunately mine has it.Going sound like an idiot but what is a bonnet pad?
It's a layer of insulation under the bonnet. The black area on this photo. Please can someone post a photo of this? I have no idea what you're talking about.
Thanks I'll pop in on my way home .I think you ought to make a fuss. Let the dealer know the pad is missing and ask when one can be fitted.
I would be amazed if there was a recall for this. Making a fuss is worth a try.So are dealers fitting these as a matter of course on a recall or someting or do I have to make a fuss?
Bit like the old candid camera episode where they driver pulled hi car into a garage to get his oil changed and when the mechanic opened the bonnet there was no engine in it.It does make you wonder what of other bits they "forgot" to fit to some cars!
Do you know what I've just realised I've got one of those lol!!They didn’t issue a recall for people getting locked in, they’re hardly going to do one for missing noise deadening.
I think it’s another example of the production line fitting stuff (or not) depending on what they have to hand.
Like the auto dipping rear view mirror that my SE wasn’t supposed to have and therefore wasn’t wired up…
