Hi, as you can see per photo. Recently, my battery life of the car is saying it's max'd at 242 miles, which is weird because for the previous charge it was saying around the 275 mark. Car is MG 4 EV Trophy Long range.

I drive on Normal mode. I have the pre-heating setting off. The AC was off too.

Not too sure why the drastic change?

Also, is there an option to default to drive eco mode rather than normal mode as it just resets to normal when I choose normal?

Hi your fully charged mileage will always differ for various reasons, but mostly due to what your average economy figure is. The range is only what the car is estimating, as to how far it thinks you will travel, based on that current economy figure.
There is no default to eco mode along with a lot of other settings, Im afraid.
It will also vary on how an individual actually drives and their traffic routes etc, just like in an ICE car.
Dont worry too much about it and enjoy your car.

Use search function top right regarding these and any other questions you may have. Lots of info on here, although not always easy to find.

What is your current m/kWh?
If below 4 then this is reflected in the GOM.
Just reset the trip counter as above then turn on in eco mode with every off and it should show the factory GOM

Your average miles per kWh is where the gom gets it's info. If you only get 3 miles per kWh then the next time you charge it will be a low range figure. You need to achieve around 4.3 average miles per kWh to achieve the WLTP range figure of 270 miles. Of course if you get more than 4.3 m/kWh then you will of course beat the WLTP range figure. So drive well and it will be rewarded with a better range.?

Personally I can't get anywhere near 4.3, I am topping out at about 4. But I suppose maybe I am doing something wrong or just driving too fast. Yes I am using ECO, energy saving and AC on with fan set to 1.

Here's from a recent all motorway trip - charged en route once.

With my Z SEV Mk1, I find motorway driving to be quite "thirsty".

I came back from Shaftsbury yesterday, and the GOM was saying 5.2mi/kWh at its maximum, on the A roads. But once on the motorway, that dropped to maybe 3.8mi/kWh. Mind, I do drive at 65-70mph.

After a recent trip to the Hereford area via mainly motorways using ECO, ACC and regen 3 at 65mph and after a charge to 100% there for the return trip my Trophy showed a range of 299 miles.

But I consider this an exaggeration and will still work on a summer range of 250 miles for percentage purposes.

This worked and the range is back to normal now. Thanks
What is normal? If it changed when you did the reset then what you see is not normal - it's merely an approximation of the WLTP range. Normal is whatever range you get based on your driving.

Monday - Cornwall to North Yorkshire so slight tailwind and warm. ACC set to 65mph, AC off apart from about 15 minutes. 2 recharge stops at Tesla. @tsedge the killer is the AC - you would do well over 4 without it I think.

Happy with that! Service on Friday...
