MG4, not a good car.

I am two months into my second year of a 3 year lease.

It is our first MG, old or new. And it is our first EV.

Overall, I am very impressed.

Some of the driving aids are helpful, some are AAARRGH!

Currently, we are in Wales, and the SatNav has been less than helpful. Despite choosing the correct option from the list offered on the screen, it took us to a place where the hotel was nowhere to be seen. It seems to choose routes that it says are quicker, but they are single lane roads with passing places which are anything but. Very frustrating.

The other things that are bugging me and not really fair to mention, as I knew about them before buying.

The boot is small, and the car is a bit tricky for me to get in and out of, and as a fat git who is getting creakier, I can only see this getting worse...

And a bigger gap between me and Mrs S would go down well. Again, something we knew about before buying and a result of my hippo-like build.

I would like a slightly bigger thing next time with more room in the boot and a little easier to get in and out of.

Or, as my GP says, you could always lose some weight.....

How long have you got?

Mine is supposed to be being fixed on Thursday.

Mine spontaneously offered to do the fix at the same time as they do the R33 update on Thursday. Perhaps they're trying to get into my good books. If that's the case it isn't going to work.

I want the following.
  • R33
  • the undertray fix
  • the charging port lights fixed
  • the new LKA update I believe is available.
There is going to be a note taped to the steering wheel listing these items, as well as giving the list to reception. I'm not taking any more excuses.

If they actually do all that then I'll leave on reasonably amicable terms. They simply won't see me again, and I'll contact Galashiels at some point to discuss transferring my business to them, with particular emphasis on customer service.

If they don't (although I might cut them some slack on the LKA thing as that's pretty new), there will be one more flaming row as I walk out the door informing them in no uncertain terms that they will not be seeing me again. I'll then be contacting Galashiels as a matter of urgency to discuss getting whatever it is Macklin have omitted to do (yet again) done.

Has anyone had the LKA update yet? I didn't think it had been released yet.

I have seen others say they've had it, and I was told verbally that if it had been released by the time my appointment came (this was arranged something like early July, September was simply the earliest date they would give me), that they would do it. So we'll see. That's the point I'm not going to have a row about if it isn't done.

In my reply to my dealer re. the SNOW case I have specifically asked them re. the status of the LKA update. I'll let you know what reply I get. :)

Well if it's part of the R59 update? then I've had it, and it is definitely much better at not interfering so much.

Also the two steps less to turn it off is welcome.
It will be a car module update, not the Infotainment, but it is quite possible they installed both on your car. I have R59 but I haven't tried LKA since... will give it a try and see if it is different.

You go, Girl !! Good luck. ??

We've got two MG4s, one SE SR 2023 and one Trophy SR 2023. Both have had faults within the first year of purchase but the SE is the clear winner. In 13 months, we've had 4 warranty repairs (5 between the two). I've driven many a car since 1999 but this one takes the "trophy'.

• 1: Considerable amount of water found in boot after rain. *Fixed seal
•2: Water under rear passenger footwell, separate issue to 1.
*Fixed seal
3: Passenger front door button dead.
*Fixed, new handle and button.
4: Rear passenger window does not function via driver door or passenger door selector.

I'm not going to talk long about the suicidal AI (as this is common on the forum) which deems it fine to slam on for no reason OR has the penchant for pulling us into incoming traffic for lols.

Or in my particular case, MGs infotainment (Android Auto) which won't connect to my phone if I plug it in before the system starts or sometimes even after it starts. It'll just disconnect me after a few moments (replugging doesn't work, get out of car works lol).

Yes, we've had the latest updates straight from MG.

Shambles, will be our last MGs.
Sad to hear.

I have mg4 trophy here and just finished a year with 20,400 miles done. Luckily I had no issues!
