Hello,

my first post there, not native english speaker, so I hope to get all right.

I'm from a month a proud owner of a Luxury64 MY24, and wile the car is truly awsome on any regard, is plagued by a quite annoying bug: when you start it for the first time speed signals recognition just lock on 50km/h.
I couldn't replicate this glitch on any other situation and the only workaround (over turning ISA off) is to lock the car, waith 30ish seconds and restart it.

Now, on MY24 the intelligent speed assistant is active by default at the start, and being a mandatory safety feature by the new regulation, it automatically get activated at any given car activation.

I was initially thinking about some self calibration error due the car being started in the box, but after leaving it in the open all night long the glitch manifested again.

I tried to contact the customer service to report what I now think being 100% a software related error, and I was politely invited to do that trought a partner dealer.
So I did what I was asked and got ignored with dealer claiming that they had no indication of such an issue from MG.

Anyone else is experiencing a similar glitch? Someone know if there is some official dealer / MG person around that can help me to get this mess sorted?

Software version is SWI133...1300R30.

Being EVs computers on wheels, shouldn't be so convoluted to report software bugs, the whole way updates and fixes are managed seems cumbersome and aged.
And that is a bit sad given how good the whole MG4 package is.

When you mention that Intelligent Speed Assist is enabled by default, can you take a photo of your settings at start?
By default in the UK we have the warning only, which is only a visual indicator (the speed limit sign on the instrument cluster starts flashing) but we have to manually enable the assist which defaults to off.

We have both visual indicator and the audio warning. It "bong bong" 3 times, and recheck after any interseption.

Ok they have changed the most recent implementation then.
In the UK I don’t think anyone has yet received these new updates to the intelligent speed assist.

Just to confirm: you must now disable them every time you start the car and in your case they are mostly wrong unless you restart the car?

Before going any further, have you tried two things?
1. Reset the infotainment unit by long pressing the Home button for 10 seconds. This might clear any memory glitches
2. If the above doesn’t fix the problem, try disconnecting the 12v battery for half an hour. Afterwards, upon reconnecting the battery, you will need to perform a couple of calibration procedures such as rotating the steering wheel all the way left, right, and centre, and fully opening and closing all the windows. Then drive the car for a few minutes.

Reading your passage again, it seems to me you are running version 1300R30 which in the UK is a very old version (don’t even know if it ever existed)
We are now getting 1300R59 installed and it does not have those new settings available.

You could ask it to be updated under warranty: just say that your Bluetooth phone connection keeps dropping and the screen needs to be reset often. This will be treated as a warranty repair and the dealer will claim the costs back from MG.

Btw, I noticed you run the system in Italian. I’m Italian so if you are too, I can help with translating terms and such.

Yes I have to turn it off any time I power up the car.

They are wrong the first time I start the car any given day. Then if I turn off the car and power it up it again the ISA works reliably untill next morning.

I'll try the reset tomorrow

But mine is different system SWI133 it has all the features of R59 and more, yours should be SWI68.

mine has shortcuts for turning on and off stuffs on a slide menu, charging stops planner, recalibrated lka and acc, and keep regen settings in memory. Other minor stuffs in the car: interior led lights, frontal intakes are now fake, and cabina top and pillar's interior are now withe-ish.

Today I managed to book for a dyagnostic check and software update, but I doubt there is any. Even maps are up to date.

Can you take a photo? Just to compare with what the uk is getting.
I'll take some better pics tomorrow, but if you zoom in you can see that intakes close to directional lights are now closed, and you can see the pillar color, same color is on the interior rooftop and interior lights console. You can also see the small net in front of central armrest missing

Thank you for all the pictures!
Yeah you are right, your SWI133 1300R30 is like our SWI68 1300R59.

With the addition of the speed limit warnings being audible by default and this glitch on yours where it’s remembering some 50kph speed limit sign until it’s rebooted, essentially twice.

If neither of the two reset options work (long press home button, disconnect 12v battery) a third option is to check a particular combination of settings: are ‘welcome lights’ enabled? Is the clock set to GPS or manual?
I noticed on mine that when ‘clock’ is set to GPS, it’s more glitchy. And the ‘welcome lights’ setting causes headlights to not be on at night yet the symbol on the dash reporting they are.

That net is really handy. Just right for keeping the RFID cards for various chargers. Sometimes my house key too.
pity the plastic behind it gets scratched badly.

Neither worked.
Welcome lights are off, clock is on GPS mode.

Also digital key function is missing.

If you are after new unannouced stuffs, check EU configurator, you will find a Luxury trim (same as Essence/Trophy for continental market) with 125 kW motor and 49 kWh LFP battery pack for just under 2k euros more then the standard trim (49kWh too now).

Also claimed Luxury64 WLTP is now 450km and 0-100 km/h is now 7.1s

MG should make a collective patchnotes page... right now is the wild west of unannounced changes.

Not only the net... smurf blue got also removed from continental EU configurator

The intelligent speed assistant default will be down to the recent EuroNCAP changes for 2024 and associated EU rules kicking in.

This will be coming for all UK cars too, by default and so it will be yet another thing to add to my pre-flight checks for the next car. sigh, wish it was the old days where I just turned the key, released the handbrake and drove.

Towing mode turns off a range of devices, I wonder if it will work for this? You could be the first to try and report back. Plaudits and hero worship will surely follow.

Is not deactivated in tow mode.

But I just discovered that my car keep in memory ELK deactivation. ?
