What you having for your Tea/Dinner, tonight. ?

Just noticed I duplicated the last picture in the string I added in #19. [ Moderator: deleted the duplicate photo. ]
I meant to add one showing my latest accessory purchase. It’s a temporary step to reach up onto a roof rack or box or no my case a roof tent.

It’s fairly self explanatory but a really handy bit of kit I think

I had both with me because of picking Caliban up from the dealer before I set off. Bloody nuisance, car constantly not locking because the spare was still inside. Eventually I put them both in a zipped inner pocket in my sweatshirt. Then later, when I went climbing in 25°C heat and a t-shirt, I had to put them both in my rucksack.

Things to leave behind on a camping trip. Spare key, rear seat headrests, parcel shelf.

(Obviously, I put the bra on first, THEN I tuck the key inside it.)

Well I’ve wondered what to have for dinner tonight. Then came along to the Kelpies in Falkirk for a walk. The place is going mad busy with tourists. One of them is driving a gorgeous looking MG VA model from the 1930’s / 40’s and the guy behind is in a Riley of the same vintage - lovely
Excellent cafe here so I had to come in for a coffee quality check. As soon as I entered the building I caught the aroma of the Vegitable Daal and I was hooked.
So my early dinner tonight has been the Daal with rice ?. That solves tonight’s menu. I’ll enjoy a bit of oatcakes and cheese later.
Bet you the MG and Riley owners are away when I get back to the car park.

Swerving back on topic, I'm feeling a bit lethargic (to put it mildly) as a result of the painkillers I was prescribed following yesterday's tooth extraction. The chippie van comes to the village on Wednesdays so that's tonight sorted. Fish supper should be easy on my battered and abused jaw.

Hope you feel better soon. And enjoy your Fish supper. ??

I'm just half asleep. I didn't get this effect yesterday when I took the first dose - it just put the pain away, now you feel it, now you don't. Same thing with the second dose. Third dose was when I went to bed anyway.

Then this morning I took a dose when I got up, but then I took my breakfast back to bed so I could then spend some time treating the midgie-bites before getting dressed. I started texting with a friend who is a doctor, telling her all about the Lochaber trip, and mentioned the tooth and the co-codamol, and she said, watch out for drowsiness. I said, no, I've been fine. Very soon after that I was sound asleep with my glasses still on. I completely missed lunch. I'm dressed and decent and up now, and I've had a coffee, but I still feel a bit groggy. It's just as well my friend mentioned the side-effect or I'd be wondering what was wrong with me!

Just as well I didn't get into the car to go and collect the dry-cleaning, which is 14 miles away. My jaw isn't really sore now so I probably won't take any more, except maybe when going to bed. I need to empty my stuff out of the car and probably vacuum it out after all that activity, as well as going for that dry-cleaning. It's my winter duvet, and the way the nights are shaping up I'm going to need it soon.

Off-topic ... we reverted to our winter duvet at the bedding change last weekend. (I was OK, but Mrs. Guru was insistent). :)

On-topic ... Mrs. Guru has tried a new slow cooker recipe - a Chinese beef one. I'll sample this when I get back from Table Tennis tonight. (I run the TT club in Strathaven).

Did I ask if you know Neil and Avril McClounan? I suppose Strathaven is getting to be quite a big place now though. Anyway, Neil is my second cousin and godson.

Sorry but no - the names aren't familiar. The town is getting bigger all the time though, probably approaching 10k population now.

PS - the Chinese beef was lovely. ?

Gnocci in cream and stilton for us in BedRock this evening. With broccoli, onion and garlic.

Very nice but quite rich compared to what I'm used to!

My idea of a cooked breakfast is porridge but I’m in Snail Five today and forgot the matches for the stupid gas stove. So it’s Cheerios the ventilated breakfast with soy milk shared with ten million midges ?‍♂️

Love the roof tent but........... is that over 35kg?

It must be when you sleep in it!

Well I'm currently in Brighton with the better half, stopping at the malmaison hotel:cool::eek:

So last night to even it out I took her for a slap up meal next door, at the wetherspoons :ROFLMAO:
I told her to choose whatever she wanted?

Gosh I know how to treat a gal.

Now for tonight's tea?
I might take her to the swanky place opposite, I think it's called Asada, asdada... oh that's it. Asda.

Keeping up on spoiling the wife, Brighton to Bournemouth leg so it's a meal deal to eat whilst charging.

She's a keeper:LOL:

There's a corner shop near the hotel so she might get pringles if she's lucky.

We ended up at a pub for food, I do spoil her rotten ?.
She had lasagne and I had steak and ale pie with mash and veg, very nice.
It was very nice but tonight will be back to the mundane stuff.

The weather has been gorgeous in Brighton and Bournemouth since Tuesday, but I see it's got to rain this afternoon onwards.

Oh no we’ve no such weather on the horizon here in northwest Scotland at Applecross. It’s been fantastic for a few days and showing wall to wall sunshine through to Sunday.
Sadly but on the other hand happily I must drive this glorious MG5 home today via some of these beautiful single track coastal and mountain roads.
