I wish they could add some new feature in app or on car, very soonFor Marvel R Luxury I got the R24 Version. There are certain MCU CCU Updates ... in the case you got problems. The Programmer Team for the mobile app is pre founding,- how ever ...
True, even the apps has so much bugs, at god summer started in my place in winter I used to out pre battery healthung by phone amd seems like it never works ?I think you can forget about new features...I would be happy for MG to just finally enable OTA updates and start correcting the hundreds of bugs in their shitty software... Unfortunately
It is kinda of shameful why they aren't posting any new updates yet ?. Seems like they don't care anymoreI think you can forget about new features...I would be happy for MG to just finally enable OTA updates and start correcting the hundreds of bugs in their shitty software... Unfortunately
How can they make a car and give a small update to it and forget like they never build it ?Made in China. What else is new? China profit comes first. After sales service, forget it.
It has been been almost a year driving this car MG Marvel R; can't complain about smoothness and comfort or the car's looks but when it comes to the SYSTEM this car looks like thy half built it and left it. Even I some times think I could have bought a Tesla model Y which gets updates in months. Most say MG has super bad customer service or customer satisfaction. That is proper bullshit, I watch all MG Marvel forums and I don't think there is anybody that ever received an OTA yet. Did the reseller said what is the criteria for MG to enable OTA for a car? Buying their car and being their customer is obviously not enough...
I so wish I would have bought a Tesla instead, definitely not going to get another MG anytime soon.
I mean, even with OTA enabled, MG Marvel has a long list of annoying bugs, some of them known and reported for over 2 years. Having OTA enabled as MG promised when they launched the car would at least not force you to visit a dealer for every update.
So disappointed![]()
A question you had mg for 2 year do you regret buying this car seens they don't even update anything. And it doesn't have good features or stable system.I had my car for over two years now, still no OTA update for the car. When they released it they promote the OTA function ?
MG is so long after Xpeng, Nio and Byd with everything right now.
Same I have no idea did they even added any updates or not unless I head to dealership. Cool car good looking and etc. But I feel stabe in back. It already made me regret buying this car Mg Marvel r. I prefer tesla or other Ev carFor me it's a mixed bag... The car is not bad, and it has loads of features, but like with any other manufacturer it has software bugs, I didn't expect anything different with the Marvel R. The problem is that they promised OTA updates, and that kind of won me over. MG never delivered on this promise, and they don't seem to bother fixing bugs, with updates being released rarely and far apart. Without the OTA you have to visit an MG dealer every time you need to update, which is a pain. With this broken promise MG lost me as a customer in the future.
It quite to how mg is dealing with car, one year of having MG marvel R a good looking car but in little bit different you could get a tesla Y which get updates almost in 2-3 months and big updates also and doesn't forget about old cars at all. Even 2021 tesla are still getting updates. The car has so many stupid errors even fingers aren't enough to show!!! Skip about any new features or update they could just do best in there already putten features like cruise control which doesn't stick at putted speed and goes up and down. Like if I get a ticket with that who should I blameIt seems none of the MG cars get any updates.
The thing to remember here is that in China "CAN be updates OTA" does not equate to "WILL be updated"
Most Chinese electronics, you should only ever expect to get what you have at delivery time, they might fix some error, but then only implement it on the next iteration.
I bought a Chinese aftermarket android radio back in 2015 or thereabout, it came with Android 4.4 and on the manufacturers page it stated that it could receive updates to newer versions of android in the future, Then android 5 came out, and then 6, i then wrote and e-mail to the manufacturer, asking for later versions of android to which they replied that it was not able to support it but i could buy their new radio they just released that had the same model number, just with a v2 tacked at the end and android 6.
Someone looked at the specs of the v2 and it was identical, same processor, same amount of ram and flash as mine.
They just decided to not give the updates out to anyone, instead wanting us to buy another of their radios, which was silly, because the radio i bought was not even 2 years old.
Today it still "works" but very few apps still support android 4.4, for example google maps stopped working on it, a while back and the streaming app i used to play music, stopped being supported also.
Now the radio is mostly used to play music via SDCard and for the reverse camera that i mounted and connected.
yeah, i own a Tesla, there are updates every month and sometimes more often. Not every update is major, but sometimes there are actually new features. It quite to how mg is dealing with car, one year of having MG marvel R a good looking car but in little bit different you could get a tesla Y which get updates almost in 2-3 months and big updates also and doesn't forget about old cars at all. Endeed even I'm also thinking to move on tesla due to is customer satisfaction. And well car with is features and also big tesla Y mainly long range. What you think in tesla Y good thing and bad thing of your experience?yeah, i own a Tesla, there are updates every month and sometimes more often. I think MG is going to lose in the longer run, if they don't understand that today a car is more or less a smartphone on wheels and especially on the "recall" side of things there are massive amounts of money to save, by being able to do it OTA instead of having to pay the MG workshop 1 hour of labor to do the update.
To be honest, i love the car, we talked about getting a used Tesla to replace our old Vauxhall, but to be honest, as a "number 2" car, we could choose between a 3 year old standard range model 3 or a brand new ZS EV.Endeed even I'm also thinking to move on tesla due to is customer satisfaction. Yeah that correct, tesla has 4 years warranty even that is making me think to get it or not but I do want ev style car i do have mg marvel R currently. I do wanna change the car to something else. I'm thinking about tesla Y used around 2023 modle and less then 20-30k km. I have alot seen alot of ppl complain about build quality but some does and some doesn't so it seems like it depends on car i just wish they make that 4 year warranty bit longer so there isn't any thinking left when purchasing the car.To be honest, i love the car, we talked about getting a used Tesla to replace our old Vauxhall, but to be honest, as a "number 2" car, we could choose between a 3 year old standard range model 3 or a brand new ZS EV.
I dont know if i would buy a Tesla again, but this has very little to do with the actual car, and more to do with the way the owner of Tesla is behaving.
That being said, dont expect a car that is very well built, the warranty here is 80.000 km or 4 years and everyone i know, is going to get an independent test of their Tesla just before it hits that mileage or age, because most every Tesla at that "age / mileage" will have stuff that is already worn out.
Steering wheel column (excessive movement) is a big MOT fail and lots of people get hundred or even thousands of pounds of stuff done under warranty already at 80.000 km.
Control arms and rubber bushings in the chassis and steering part are also worn out after only 80.000 km.
I even saw one that said "They install identical new parts to the ones on your car, so expect to have to replace them again in 80.000 km" and then he mentioned that other spare part manufacturers have started making these parts also, but the difference is, those parts have a lot better wear, so if/when i hit 160.000 i will probably pay a few 1000 pounds to have the "good" ones installed.
But other than that, it is a great car, the best thing is the software, there are many silly decisions Tesla made, but the stuff that works, works and in the 1½ years i owned our Model Y, it has had loads of feature upgrades...Not least of all, software upgrade to enable the matrix headlamps, they are awesome.
