Ok, I have the VNCI dongle (updated firmware) and VCI/VDS/SIPS successfully installed on a laptop, ready to go and RMI account all set up etc - some questions before I experiment with buying access time, if you wouldn't mind answering please.
Queries as follows:
My XPower currently has R59, upgraded from R40 as supplied, and with the dealer appearing to have done the key module updates incl ACC, LKA, HVAC under PDI. It also came with FICM MCU version 68.4.7.0 installed. The intention is to check/update all modules plus R63 & TBOX update.
Does the clock start from time of purchase i.e. for 1hr or 1day or is that treated as a block of time that could theoretically be used up over several days?
What’s best – to do general SIPS update, then FICM and TBOX and then a final SIPS install specific to those? Plus;
I assume it will do the TBOX 23E32 update as part of the post USB reconfiguration via SIPS?
Does SIPS update the FICM MCU, following above procedure, to a newer version than 68.4.8.0?
The FL5 has FICM version R12 (vs R15 & R17 since released) but don’t know what the latest MCU version should be. The major issue with this is that the dealer didn’t do the Tesla chargers update - however, I’ve not encountered any alarming behaviours with anything else to date, albeit it’s still only done a few miles.
Would be nice to bring this fully up to date – has anyone heard of the FICM USB files for the FL5 being available, otherwise I’ll likely be restricted to just doing some of the modules?
If possible, I’d also like to attempt to clear/reset a long-term stop/start system initiation failure on a 2016 FL MG6 TDi
Believe SIPS/VDS will cover all MG models back to something like 2012?
