I normally use Regen 3 when driving on country roads as I like the way it helps slow the car without me needing to use the brake pedal so much.
Having said that it can be temperamental as sometimes the regen doesn't kick in the way you expect. Sometimes the transfer from lift off regen to brake...
That is a very impressive figure that I've never seen but the temperature at 25C (I had to Google translate from stone age numbers) will have helped.
Most of my driving is on motorway and dual carriageway where I usually sit around 65mph and now in the cold weather I'm seeing 3.2 miles per kWh...
This info is solid gold, thank you.
I guess the reason why we only get 3kW at an 11kW station is our cables are only single phase and 11kW chargers are 3 phase so to get the full 11kW we need a three phase cable.
This will explain why I got so little charge the last time I used an 11kW charger.
I usually use both but I don't really believe either make a huge difference, the brake pedal uses regen more than brakes anyway and eco mode only reduces the HVAC load a little and softens the accelerator.
I've heard a lot of people with PHEV's have 12V battery issues and it seems to be related to frequency of charging or not unplugging when the car is charged.
Some people plug their cars in every time they get home and leave it plugged in until their next journey so the issue is either the 12V...
My MG5 LR is pretty good at turning on the lights at the right level of darkness.
If they don't come on early enough it might be an issue at the rear as your back lights won't be on but you're probably blinding oncoming traffic with the DRL's rather than not being seen.
Did you make sure to ask for a 4 wheel alignment for both camber and castor?
Maybe throw a couple of bags of coal in the boot before taking it in again. ;)
My MG5 is the first car I've ever bought with a warranty other than the standard dealer 6 months.
As far as I know MG5's are as reliable as any ICE car and probably even more reliable so you'd be unlucky to have a problem.
Maybe try to beat them down a bit more because no warranty.
Mine came without locking wheel nuts which I was very grateful for. They only stop honest people taking your wheels off, usually with a large bill to follow.
Why would you even consider a plugin hybrid if you do large number of motorway miles. The only way PHEVS make any sense is if you do frequent short journeys and rarely long journeys. In your situation a PHEV would be the worst of both worlds as the MPG would be rubbish and the servicing would be...
This makes me feel better that I paid £350ish for three years servicing when I bought the car.
At the time I thought it was extortionate but went ahead anyway as I guessed it would be silly money later and I wanted to maintain the warranty.
I try to avoid going diagonal even if the tyres are not directional. I have no evidence to confirm this and it could be nonsense but in my head it's better to keep them rotating the same direction where possible.
