    MG5 Brake failure

Do they do anything more than wash the car? Seriously though, this should not have left the factory in that state. What other safety critical systems are being left liable to fail by assembly issues?

    MG5 Brake failure

There's two separate issues here: You can reject a car very easily in the first month, and this defect would allow it. After one month the dealer has to be given the opportunity to rectify the car which appears simple. There's still no explanation for why the braking failed entirely, if it...

MG ZS electric drivers seat to fit an MG5?

Always good advice, it'll throw an airbag error at very least.

    MG5 Tow bar again

    That's fairly standard.

    MG5 Brake failure

plus the "handbrake" (emergency for any US readers) brake, unless they are counting that as the second system.

MG5 State of reduction drive oil…

There's two different failure modes for the lubricant, either age/mileage or debris from manufacturing. The former may be as high as 60,000 miles, but the latter will be mainly in the first 1,000. If you intend keeping the car long term an early change is probably a worthwhile investment.

MG5 State of reduction drive oil…

It's a big issue with Nissan LEAF where likewise it's not a service item. Obviously different design/manufacturing processes etc, but it gets horrible after a few years or 20,000 miles. A replacement gearbox is ~ £2k, oil £20 + 20 minutes labour.

    MG5 Charging issues with Ohme

Have you checked the state of the Control Pilot pins in the Ohme plug and the MG's socket? A clean with contact cleaner could help as would checking for debris.

MG to lose customers for good?

Sorry to see you (and your sense of humour) go. I think that you have made the correct decision. But sadly I don't think that MGUK or SAIC care.

How to get a FRUNK in your MG5

Awesome bit of work. As the poster on the French site says, it'll be even better when he has cut and replaced the engine cover. 22 litres is a useful bit of storage, and the fact that it has a lid is good. £13 from IKEA UK. Only downside for me is that my support structure is different to...

    MG5 Disappearing charge

Your discharging whilst driving was at closer to 15kW so much slower than a Rapid charger. I'm surprised that it was so far out.

    MG5 variable charge rate

Strictly my EVSE is a ProjectEV/Growatt one but it is in "dumb" mode, all of the control is done by the old style Ohme lead sitting in the middle following instructions from Octopus via Ohme. Personally I haven't gone for an Ohme charge point as they don't fully support solar, which the...

Which is Cheaper ICE or EV it depends how things have changed

The obvious solution is to raise much needed tax revenue by reinstating the "fuel price escalator/fuel price stabiliser" and including the deferred rises from previous years.

    MG5 variable charge rate

I have a pre-facelift MG5 and am on Intelligent Octopus using a Type 2 to Type 2 Ohme lead. This varies the charge rate regularly throughout charging both suspending the charge and varying the rate. I'd assume that it uses the same technique but don't know for sure, but can confirm that it works.
