Best practice for charging LFP batteries on MG4 se

Manual will tell you charging to 100% is recommended once a month for BMS to equalise cells. Saw a figure once which claimed the least degradation if you charge LiFeP between 75 to 45 state of charge.

Recent Valuation 30% of what I paid less than 2 years years ago...!

Australian situation: Paid AUS$40,000 for MG4 51kWh Excite 2024 model, dealers advertised that model for $31,000 two months later new, perhaps the 2023 model (?), anyway, at the moment an MG4 Excite is selling for $33,000! So brand new models have become $7,000 cheaper! I have always expected...

2024 MG4 51 Excite: "LH rear low tyre pressure" sticks despite pump-up?

Might be temp. related. Have pumped it up to 40psi and will check again. MG iSmart app is still reporting an abnormal situation, but the msgs on screen are off. iSmart claims to be running in the background, but seems to be faulty. Tyre shop wants $50 to fix a flat. Even at 32 degrees C the MG...

2024 MG4 51 Excite: "LH rear low tyre pressure" sticks despite pump-up?

Bad tyre pressure icon and yellow triangle plus occasional message on screen with audio warning. As this may need a warranty repair and I do not trust stealerships, how can I avoid a possible "Yes, there was a leak and we fixed it, give us your credit card!" scam?? One suggested solution was to...

    MG Australia slashes MG4 price

About six weeks ago the BYD Dolphin, MG4 51 Excite and Nissan Leaf all cost AUS$40k each. The BYD had a one month waiting time then, now three to four and cost has gone up to AUS$46k for 2024 model, BYD Atto 3 to AUS$48k. Have not bothered asking for a 2024 price of Leaf as it had 100km less in...

    Insane Wait Times (UK Dealerships)

Youtube tells me repairs are a problem generally with EVs. In Oz my first service will be in two years for the MG and sales first are essential plus to work on 400VDC batteries requires licensing. A Nissan dealer close to my home has no EV technicians and the local BYD dealer's "service centre"...

V2L discharge specs, 60Hz output on Australian MG MG4 EV

The 215VAC is not surprising as I read it is the Chinese standard of 220VAC, but the 60Hz is perhaps a worry for computers??

USB-C - Anyone know what is a compatible cable?

That seems to be correct, but not in my case. My Samsung is being charged from the USB-A to the Samsung's USB-C, but when I click on the Android Auto icon on the screen, it says to CONNECT to the USB port?? Someting wong here with Samsungs??

    MG4 randomly stops charging

The MG iSmart app (Australia) software has the same problem of stopping the scheduled transfer at any time. Just changing the start and end times does not even reflect on the screen. Another forum suggested setting it in the car via "Energy Management" and that will fix it.

    MG iSmart app

Noticed two problems: 1 Setting scheduled charging and saving it does not show up on the screen of the app. 2 Sometimes charging stops and the charging box with is flashing light tells me "Checking". Then have to hit "Start Charging" on the app to get it going again. 3 The charging point at the...

MG4 51kWh: Radio dead, lane keeping issues, starting problems

Hi friends, First time user, be gentle! New MG 4, happy with it as I am a pensioner and I can charge it from solar. Even with overcast skies I can get 1.4kW and that supplies the charger. Dealer wanted me to come in for the first free service ASAP, but as the suggested 1,500km have not been...
