Update on post #17 - New CCU fitted on Thursday, at the same time as my first annual service (cost £67). The car now charges again perfectly on AC, it was charged today to 80% all from solar energy...........result!

Update on this, and yes it is going to have to be a new CCU. The dealership does not yet know when the job can be done, but at least for the now, the car charges ok on the local Shell 175kW chargers (even though it is very expensive :cry:)

The biggest problem with the "tractor factor" is all the mud they throw up off their wheels at this time of year which then land on a nicely cleaned car. Guess who has just taken the dog to Chapel Carn Brae (Crows an Wra) in a newly cleaned car and has had mud splattered all over it by three...

My MG4 has just started having this problem in the last couple of months. Charging with DC (expensive) public chargers is fine, but using my home (7kW) charger or the granny lead, both stop charging a few minutes after being connected. They connect fine and start charging, but then switch off...

Update: The car charged perfectly on a Shell Recharge unit, so that's good. As we have some sunshine on the solar panels here at home at the moment, I will plug the car into the granny charger to see if it will charge for longer than 10 mins.

I have recently experienced the scheduled charging (wall charger) not working on my MG4, after it had been working fine since getting the car last May. If I set the scheduled charging in the app, or in the car, it seems to switch on ok for perhaps ten minutes then switches itself off again...

No, sorry I do not know what the software update was, but as the version numbers shown on the infotainment did not change, the update must have been for one of the buried components. The car went in to have the front passenger door window winding gear sorted, because the motor had locked itself...

I have had the AEB come on once, but in the car's defence, there was a double decker bus on my side of the road which was overtaking some parked traffic. However, the emergency braking caught me by surprise, as I was still rolling forward at 15 to 20 mph and was brought to an abrupt standstill...

You should easily be able to go from home to Exeter along the A303 (which will help keep your top speed down ?) and the bank of chargers at Exeter are great……or Salmons Leap suggested by @tsedge

Well it definitely was active at the same sort of speeds on the very same lanes before the software update. When I first bought the car and before I learned to switch off the LKA, in the first week on four occasions it very violently tried to steer into the bank, plus numerous other twitches...
