Interesting Pod Point charging failure (and fix)

I'm sure you know that your DNO must maintain the voltage within the range of 216 to 253 volts in order to be regulation compliant. Nearly 10v below the minimum suggests there is, indeed, a problem with your supply! As someone who, in the early days of my EVSE, suffered the opposite problem...

12V battery drained in 48 hours whilst locked

I can relate to these figures, to some extent (details below). Since my series of 12v battery failures and consequent use of a booster pack, along with the fact that a two-day diagnostic check by my local MG dealer failed to find any fault, I have been quite studiously checking the state of my...

    No S5 Manual

For me, there was no need to clear the cache. Simply opening the app and going to the User Manual tab, it immediately downloaded. But I do agree, those other User Manuals have now disappeared!

Anyone else having issues with the app today?

Yes, working here again this morning.

The Ultimate MGS5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

@Blackbartblues and @Iwasyoungonce I think you both need to give it time! The current ambient temperature does nothing to aid better economy and we, as owners, need to "learn" how to best "drive" our cars in order to achieve increased range! I previously owned an MG5 and it took me some...

12V battery drained in 48 hours whilst locked

1000% agree. Like @Ian Key I keep mine under the centre console, at least I do now! Having had the (slightly) humiliating experience of calling MG Assistance to a totally flat 12v battery (AA measured it at 4v) and being unable to access the booster I bought two years earlier (and never needed...

Public charging routine in a nutshell

I should have added: charging doesn't seem to start until the cable becomes locked in (in my experience).

Public charging routine in a nutshell

In my experience it is the act of locking the car that causes the charging cable to become locked in at both the car and the charger.

Got to disagree with this! We're both in our 70s also but I find those route planning apps, especially ZapMap, along with Electroverse and Tesla, invaluable for planning where to stop and charge! And yes, to empty our bladders also!

    MGS5 isofix

@NickHeynes Perhaps this would be better posted to the MGS5 forum? I have an S5 but no need to use those isofix points, sorry!

    MGS5 12V battery dead

I think we may have to agree to disagree!

    MGS5 12V battery dead

Agree 100%! In addition, I previously posted that my car was plugged in at 10:40 this morning and had almost immediately started charging, which gave some credence to the point made by @dx4100 that the ev.energy app does not control when charging takes place, although it is set to Smart Charge...
