I think we may have to agree to disagree!

    MGS5 12V battery dead

Agree 100%! In addition, I previously posted that my car was plugged in at 10:40 this morning and had almost immediately started charging, which gave some credence to the point made by @dx4100 that the ev.energy app does not control when charging takes place, although it is set to Smart Charge...

    MGS5 12V battery dead

But the percentage to which the car should be charged is/can be set in the iSmart app or the car itself! The ev.energy app doesn't need to know this figure, the car "controls" how much it takes. The ev.energy app controls when it gives. In my previous MG5 PFL (so iSmart app not available)...

Thanks! That seems to be confirmed by the reading this morning (ambient temperature very close to 0) of 12.3.

    MGS5 12V battery dead

Interesting! As someone who has needed to use my Battery Booster pack four times in the last two weeks to get the car to "start" (and who also has a Rolec charger, the ev.energy app and received the same "logged in from another device" message on the MG app) I was beginning to wonder whether...

    Recommend a 12V battery please

As someone who has needed to use his Battery Booster four times in the last two weeks, I think it is a price worth paying! As for not remembering to keep it fully charged, surely the answer is to "recharge" it after each use or after a given number of uses, perhaps 2 or 3? I have this one...

    VOTE TESLA SUPERCHARGES with MG5

Warranty terms is irrelevant here, sorry! If you are able to have the update done it in no way affects your warranty! As @kevin ellard said, the "Tesla Update", if it can be applied to your car (if it is not a PFL SR) is a software update. I had it successfully applied to my MGS PFL LR by...

    Three Months In An S5

Yes, I have! Very long story, short: I have now experienced four times the failure of the 12V on my car, leading to requirement for use of the Mechanical Key and my Battery Booster. (Local dealer has had the car in for diagnostic investigation - 2 days - and could find no problem but have...

    New EV - advice please

Putting the waypoint in to what? The Electroverse app, Google Maps, Waze? I tend to use Zapmap for finding the location of chargers along my route then the Electroverse app to see which are accessible via that app. But, I, like others who've posted here, will always try to find Tesla Open...

    Three Months In An S5

I think the point is that you have to enable the Custom Pilot button (each time you drive the car) if you have chosen settings which are NOT the car's defaults and have saved them to that button. By definition "custom" surely means "non-default" so, essentially, personalised and "my choice" of...

Did you actually mean enable the custom pilot?

Charging with Intelligent Octopus Go - 5% Short

That may not be wholly true!! I've commented elsewhere that the ev.energy app, which communicates with and controls my Rolec charger, also shows the battery percentage of my MG S5, so some degree of communication car>charger or app is certainly happening for me.
