As you will have read in my post #9 earlier, Germany has a different domestic wiring scheme that uses radial, rather than ring, finals; thus mitigating many of the issues ;)

    Is 1 x lamp a dummy?

No worries. Vehicles must only have one fog light and then it makes sense to have one reverse light on the other side. The fog light is on the offside, so you know which side to overtake! ETA: See also Reversing 💡 | MGS5 EV Forum

Correct - that is not an area of safety concern that I am aware of. Absolutely - also for those that only have space for a couple of panels in the garden (y) The key concern is introducing a generation device on the load (= user) side of the existing protection devices such as MCB's or RCD's...

V2L function to power the house?

I disagree. The earthing rod connects the earth and neutral supply from the vehicle (or generator) to ground on the supply side of the RCD. If a human then touches a faulty device (i.e. one whose external metal casing has become live), some current will flow - via the human - to ground. The...

Yes, there are some upcoming changes to BS7671 (Amendment 4:2026) released next month, that will pave the way for more technical regulations, expected to be announced this summer, to permit plug in solar. There are still a lot of concerns in the industry how that will work and concerns as to...

V2L function to power the house?

Hmmm.. I do worry if I'm being question by you, out of all people on here ;) Yes, exactly that situation ⚡ I think you missed the earth rod bit where I said... Obviously, without an earth connection, the RCD would be as useful as a chocolate teapot. FWIW; In the UK, RCD's do not have an...

V2L function to power the house?

That thinking is not 'wrong' as such, just not complete. With a fault on a single appliance you will not be harmed, but you will not be aware a fault has occurred. The technical issue is that any other fault occurring on another device or wire could allow the full 230V to cross your body...

They should all comply with G98/G99 regs for cut-out in the case of no grid. Obviously they will also need to do that or they'd electrocute users with 'live' pins on their BS1363 plugs.

    (y) 16 is definitely not enough ;) On that note... it looks like we'll have harvested just over 1MWh of solar this month :)

    (y) agree. Sadly, I suspect the government will accidentally lose the only phone on which they have a copy of the BS7671 wiring regulation and leave the only laptop, which has a PDF of BS7617 on a train. And then claim there are no reasons to not make these devices available to purchase...

V2L function to power the house?

That is the power that the MG V2L adapter will supply. There is AFAIAA no specification to the limit. Others have achieved more using a custom cable with a different value resistor - see https://www.speakev.com/threads/new-v2l-specification-mg4-mg5-zs.174106/ (y) provided you only use...

LOL... it's not so simple here as there are technical differences between the UK and German wiring systems and corresponding safety issues - I think I have detailed these in my post #13 above.

V2L function to power the house?

You make no mention of a) earthing and b) RCD protection  Unless you have the skills and knowledge of such, your suggestion would be potentially lethal. Do not try this at home!
