No, the dealer enquired but said that it was not covered. They quoted about £80 for the part and fitting so I didn't bother. I should pursue with MG as it's a faulty component, rather than wear and tear. Let me know if you have any luck with MG!

No, I haven't tried to remove it, just noticed the crack. It's in for a software update today so I pointed out the cracked dial and the person said it wasn't covered by any guarantee -- I disagreed and someone will examine it today. I expect they will come back with a (large) cost to replace!
Just a word of advice for MG4 owners, you will need a T20 21W LED Bulb (usually says 7443 and 7440 as well), rather than the T15 size mentioned in this thread. The latter is a smaller socket and the bulb falls out the MG4 with the T20 socket!
