Our MG3 does a lot of short journeys and during the warmer weather we got 50mpg plus, which drops to mid 40s when it is really cold. There have been no issues and the car has just tipped over 4k.

I find, no matter the circumstances, if the car is brought to a halt gently, it does not apply the parking break until more pressure is exerted on the brake pedal. Then it is released as soon as the accelerator is pressed.

Yes, mine stays on till the car is locked, or if the engine is stopped, it keeps going for a few minutes and then shuts down, with the option to stop that.

Of the small/midsized cars we have had as a family, which is an Astra, 2 x Tipos, Punto, Corsa, Golf and Civic, this MG3 hybrid is my favourite and I think that is because it has the acceleration that the big cars, the Jaguar S -Type, various Volvos & Honda Legend, we have had.

I am going to wait till the car gets its next service. If you go anywhere near an Arnold Clark dealership with a problem they charge £100 plus for a diagnostic test, even if that it highly unlikely to show up a fault code, which is the case if it is suspension related.

Your number 3 is common, the speed limit detection is not very accurate.

I now have shiny brake discs and am sure the issue was the wheel cleaner I was using. It is Turtlewax redline wheel cleaner and boy does it turn everything red, more so that any other of the cleaners that turn brake dust deposits red. It really stains the brake disc itself.

Our car has also started to make the creaking noise. I think it might be the polystyrene used to house the battery and jack.

The car before, a Fiat Tipo, did exactly the same.

Summer mpg about 58. Winter mpg about 44.

Every time I park the car wet, on starting up the next day, the rear brake unsticks and there is a grinding noise, as the corrosion is worn away.

Shame, because reheating is now my favourite feature.

Recorded a new low of 14.6mpg after half a mile of driving, and warming the car up using the app.
