    Balcony Solar

It seems ridiculous to me that our energy prices are tied to 'Global Markets'. IF thats the case why is our energy the most expensive amongst European countries? Surely theyre on the Global Market too?

    Balcony Solar

It does sound great, hang a couple of panels on your balcony, plug in to a socket and away you go saving a fortune except........ it wont. 1) The panels wont be at the best angles to the sun, I know they only need daylight but if they're ever to meet their rating it needs to be perfect angle and...

    Balcony Solar

A lot of our rules and regulations are thanks to the EU, so not sure why youre surprised.

V2L function to power the house?

I'm sure you need to take care from a legalities point of view modding a charge point bearing in mind you need to register with the DNO what you have installed. My first charge point was completely DIY running on an Arduino processor. I later abandoned that when I had a solar and battery install...

V2L function to power the house?

Ive run mine being fed from a 20 year old Briggs & Stratton powered brushed 7.0kW genny, a Chinese clone 5kW Inverter Genny and a skip rescued 3.5 kW unbranded genny. The brushed generators are much better at their output sinewave than the brushless ones which seem to have very odd shape to...

V2L function to power the house?

I've found Multiplus II pretty accommodating with gennys I've fed into it, it seems pretty resilient in overload state too, way more output than its rating. It's certainly a heavy piece of kit compared to many others.

V2L function to power the house?

What type of inverter is fitted to the MG's? I assume it's a modified sinewave rather than a pure sinewave unit? If this is the case, users need to be careful on what loads are connected, most devices with switch mode power supplies should be OK and linear type power supplies too but devices...

V2L function to power the house?

Nah dont worry about it, I still slept soundly in my bed :D :D :D The only point that I was taken to task over if I recall correctly was relying on the BMS to stop the charging if the battery became fully charged. A member said I shouldn't be doing that, using the BMS in this way was...

V2L function to power the house?

This is pretty much what I have installed BUT I disagree (nothing new there!) that it "would require a lot a lot of charging lead/V2L swapping, or hacking your charger about" I have a DIY battery system and inverter installed at my house. I use an ex server power supply that has adjustable...

V2L function to power the house?

Sorry Bam Bam, I have to take exception to this, what I do IS safe, it presents no danger to people or equipment.

Have you noticed fuel prices going up

Well you do at least have enough time to start planning your journey in detail. If you set off early in April you have just about enough time to get there adopting your drive for 30 miles and charge for 8 hours regime :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Is it still worth exporting your home battery?

I do nt have the equipment to do a 560A discharge on them, capacity does still seem to be good, the BMS is reporting 100% SOH and the voltages I used were specified by the cell manufacturer? Which aspect do you feel is wrong in my system?

Is it still worth exporting your home battery?

Can you go on agile for export only remaining on intelligent for import?

Have you noticed fuel prices going up

We definitely should....... Just remember all the ridicule from the petrol heads - milk floats, hanging around for hours waiting for it to charge, batteries dead after 5 years, cant use heating in winter... HA Yes we can smirk

Is it still worth exporting your home battery?

It would make more sense to me, theyre charging more for electricity at those times therefore they can afford to pay more.
