Just chipping in to say: Not all PFLs have emergency braking, but you can easily tell from the photos. If there's a weird square flat section front and centre under the "grille" it's got ACC, AEB and LKA. If there isn't, it hasn't! Handy if you find a dealer with more than 1 to choose from...

Do you know if it's the MK1 or the MK2? One of the three MG5s we've had (leasing before buying got complicated) exhibited this behaviour quite a bit. It seems to be less likely if you wait for the car to "initialise" before taking it out of park. There may also be software updates a dealer...

Apparently they're not locked to a particular vehicle (unlike many other manufacturers) so assuming it's not damaged could also be a nice range upgrade for a SR model

Nice. Paul from Cleevely Mobile had a look at mine on Friday and recommended basically what you're doing: add a bit more padding for the things that look like they're getting pressed on, and if possible a bit of support from the frame mounts. I'm sure I'll get around to it at some point.

Looks very plausible. A quick search online for "rear window heater radio interference" gets lots of results across lots of car manufacturers. Apparently a slightly damaged wire could be making tiny arcs and lots of EMF noise

Can confirm what @dragon2611 says here: on a PFL MG5, car locked: 1. open the boot with key in pocket (boot only unlocks) 2. hop in with key in pocket 3. close boot 4. boot locks and then immediately pops open again, allowing access to the key I can't comment as to what the newer ones do!

We got the car in the summer. Now it's started to get colder I've just discovered this alternative radio mute button... Anyone else kitted out with one of these??

That's good to know. We bought a second hand 21 plate SR and only got one key :mad:. My plan was to hop in the boot with the key in my pocket and pull it closed behind me to confirm this one way or the other! I still might, but good to know someone else has gone before me.

At this point it feels like the builders were putting in arbitrary differences between the trims! By my count, the options mean you can have any combination of: Excite (no roof bars) or Exclusive (with roof bars) ACC/lane assist or not (is this "Trophy"?) SR or LR, which for some reason...

I'm driving an Exclusive SR. It doesn't have it.

Just jumping in here: anyone know which Mk 1 trims got the two-layer boot and which didn't? Also has anyone tried to retrofit? I'd be interested to know if there are any holes behind the fabric I could just bolt a part on to.
