MG5 Exclusive LR, I get about 140 miles to a charge and mostly motorway driving. When it's 10°C or so I'll get about 180-200 miles. Can't complain, I knew what I was buying...if I wanted more miles in the winter then I'd bought a car with a heatpump. The only thing that pisses me off with the MG...
Nah I only wash it myself and the most it gets is a spray of water, I don't put any cleaning solution on alloys apart from maybe some snow foam that might get on it from the main wash.
Yeah, I wasn't sure if anyone else had a similar issue, I can't seem to find anyone else with alloy issues in the forum so I'm thinking maybe the previous owner cleaned them with a harsh chemical or something similar but I wouldn't expect them to clean the inside of the alloy...
As the title says, the alloys are in pretty bad condition and are flaking from the inside out - think MG will warranty or shall I run them until MOT says I no longer can?
I've not curbed them/etc they just look like poor dip quality from the factory if I'm being honest.
Yeah I'll find out if they made a mistake because £80 sounds too good to be true. Unless they accidentally said the quiet part out loud and told me how much they pay for the pads from China.
Update: It was £80 ex vat, so £96 all in - it was a discounted price because I'm getting it serviced and...
Rears - I suspect they put on shit ones in the factory, or the previous owner had kers set to 1 always and just slammed their foot on the accelerator and brake...genuinely no idea. Local stealers is quoting £80 ex vat for the job so I'm not too miffed.
Yeah, so, the previous owner must've been a low intelligent elephant as the pads are down to 10% wear as I suspected. Took the wheels off to inspect.
Changed brake pads in the mrs' Kia E-Niro and have been changing my own pads (and oil/filters previously) for about 10 years with no issues. MG...
25k miles - back brakes are screeching worse than the mother in-law
That takes away the cheapness of the EV 😂 - shame, I’ll bite the bullet and pay the stealers.
Looking to change the rear pads but can’t find a tonne of info on servicing it myself. Anyone able to offer advice?
