Exactly this. I've no idea what tread depth I started with and I guess that goes for the dealer too. However, if I'm to believe the report on the tyres given at the service then I won't get 8000 miles out of them.

This is definitely something Im looking into. My ER MG4 was in for its first service today. It's only done 3500 miles in 12 months. Mostly town driving. I do not drive like a loon.
