Just show them the ‘Webby on Cars’ YouTube review …. his review has a very clear example of the car producing high revs under not exactly demanding requirements. (11min 20 secs onwards)
So one of two things can be deduced. The high revs are due to something entirely different or the dealership don’t know how to apply the update correctly. Since there are people on this forum who have had PD052 update and it’s solved the issue…. I can only assume the dealership you went to...
The entire update procedures seems rather complicated and open to potential confusion. Seems overly complicated to apply updates to the car that solve issues without creating other potential issues.
Sound pretty clueless to me. Refused to look at comments and issues raised in this forum!!! Unbelievable. Can you not ask for a print out of all updates applied to the car? Thought they might have given you anyway? Obviously not.
I keep an eye on this forum because a freind is very interested in MG ZS Hybrid. After much research and test drives I ended up going for Hyundai Kona …. for precisely these sorts of reasons. Lots of shortcuts to turn off driver warnings and lane assists. Lane assist setting are remembered and...
Because they probably haven’t a clue which ones work and which ones don’t. The recent video that appears on here with various MG owners and Miles from MG dealership didn’t exactly fill me with confidence. When it came to Miles talking about updates…. It seems like the left hand doesn’t know what...
I doubt this is a unique problem to MG. Lane Keep Assist is just an accident waiting to happen in my opinion. Don’t think the system undergoes enough real world testing before being considered safe, regardless of manufacturer.
I know Hyundai have Lane Keep Assist and Lane Follow Assist. The...
I was going to suggest hitting it with the branch of a tree Basil Fawlty style. Looks like you won’t have to. Maybe your car sensed what I was going to suggest! Keep a branch in your boot going forward from now.
Characteristic of the car or characteristic of hybrid cars in general? Because I test drove Toyota Yaris Cross and Hyundai Kona Hybrids and didn’t experience high revs like I did in the MG. The Kona was smoother than the Yaris Cross. In Eco mode the Kona would rev to about 2.5 and then change...
It could simply be that some dealers know how to install updates correctly and others don’t. But Robert1957 post seems to suggest something else may be going on. At least for a number of owners. Hope it’s gets solved, because driving a car that revs erratically is somewhat unnerving.
From my...
Dealer actually said they were aware of high revs after the PD052 update? Hmm, since some people have had update and it’s solved issue, suggests something else must be going on.
Either their updates aren’t working for everyone (update failed) or some cars have another as yet undiagnosed fault...
I do genuinely think that if MG sort out their customer service and maybe just put a little bit more care and attention into their releases….. they will annihilate most European manufacturers when it comes to value for money. I think they are improving rapidly. I’m under no illusion that...

I sincerely hope the update solves your high revs issue and it doesn’t turn out to be an issue that can’t be resolved by an update. As for being embarrassed…. where I live, driving anything under £80000 is reason to be embarrassed! 🤣
Torque converter issue? But then some people in this forum are saying the PD052 issues solves the high revs issue. I wonder if two things are going on? PD052 prevents battery depleting to low. Can understand how this will have an impact on revs. All good. But… there are still some people saying...
