These leads are around £200 , with an optional length. The Commando sockets are around £35 for an interlocked switch. Needs to be on its own radial circuit really, so an electrician may be required but not necessarily a huge job..
That's amazing! Not thinking of myself (my MG4SE was £27k 3 yrs ago, with the 3 coat red finish) but theres a few friends who maybe looking, I'll be sure to pass on this. Many thanks!
I use a 16A commando lead with an optional current and timer delay on it for my 2nd ev. I hardly ever need to charge both at the same time on IOG. I try and charge my mg4 on greener nights and my wife's Zoe on othet nights but its never a problem..
Admittedly its a detached bungalow so no real scaffolding costs but my friend last August had 15 panels, a 5kW AC inverter and a 9kWh Sunsynk battery fitted.. total cost £8600. Local electrician, MCS registered.
With the price of pv panels so cheap I would definitely recommend fitting as many...
I guess but for a prolonged outage with little or no solar you will be hard pushed to run everything off a 13A socket.. a gas cartridge stove is a no brainer, 1970s or not.. or even a woodburner fire, now that is going back :)
Maybe invest in a couple of portable rechargeable batteries? Paraffin heaters? Camping stove running on gas cartridges? You can get low power kettles for camping etc and a simple telephone which doesn't need a power socket just a phone line. I have one handy for such an occasion.
To be fair, it should work both ways.. if the smart schedule says its starting at 10pm, as it did for me tonight, then not start for whatever reason is not good. So it then said 10.30pm and didn't, then again 11pm and it didn't. Its still not started. Come on octopus play fair, you can't accuse...
Ah I forgot, I think you need to wire the battery ct to the zappi also.. if theres an ethernet cable going to it there may be a spare twisted pair you could use..
If you have a ct around your battery wire, it therefore has a sensor for current charge and discharge.. there is an option on the zappi settings to avoid battery drain. Unless they've changed it. A query to Myenergi may solve this conundrum. Do you have a battery symbol showing on the myenergi...
