There was little that wasn’t out of date tbh. Think I determined from all the version dates that nothing had been changed since leaving the factory, despite the dealer making all kinds of promises to the contrary. I’ll try to dig out the before and after print-outs I kept but, generally...
I get this on the MG4 - the GOM resets after 99hrs driving time and regains its original optimism in the process. Not sure we’ve actually done enough in the 5 yet for comparison but would expect it’s similar.
So, had the call today - all 4 corners approved for changing. Booked in for a couple of weeks time. Garage was fishing for doing the annual service, that’s due next month, at the same time but wanted £340 for the privilege, which I politely declined.
All 4 wheels on FL5 Trophy now showing corrosive spots around edges of the diamond cut faces. 10 1/2 months old with 2.5k miles on clock. Dealer had it yesterday and report submitted to MG - waiting to see whether warranty claim accepted?
Would be interesting to find out - manual also has this
But... my FL5 manual notes the wheels can be swapped diagonally and sensors will self-learn under the respective section for same.
Both my 4 + 5 came with Type 2 cables but no Granny charger as standard, at the end of last year, but luckily the dealer did find a granny for me which he threw in the trunk! 🤣😎
How does the extra load on the rear affect traction, as it’s hardly difficult to spin the front wheels in normal circumstances + thinking of putting one on my FL - any thoughts on brand / type etc?
Saw my first fellow XPower locally in the flesh this afternoon - a Green one parked next to mine opposite the Co-Op at Park Parade, Hazlemere. Prior to that only had glance of one maybe 2 or 3 times on M25/M11 over 13 months of ownership. See quite a few SE's these days, plus there's definitely...
Hit 15,000 miles in mine at 11 months and paid £150. Garage had a bonus out of me though in that it had the LKA recall updates already done but they noticed it wasn't registered with MG (I'd done it myself) and hence claimed it for themselves 🤔🤣
I have Goodyear Vector 4S Gen 3 245/45 R18 (XL with rim protector)
Find balance of grip/performance/wear to be spot on for an all seasons tyre. Covered 17.5k miles over 13 months and comparatively little loss of tread.
Oh, and with the marginal increase in tyre circumference, the speedo reading...
If you are only doing the EVCC you should be ok. But tbh why go to lengths of buying the kit and setting it all up and then not take advantage in doing the whole suite?
I didn’t previously get to do the TBox update in conjunction with the Infotainment system as that required tracking down...
Can’t remember off the top of my head but I did have one module that ‘failed’ the update and took a further couple of attempts before accepting it. Key thing is to use a battery charger alongside, as noted above, to mitigate voltage drop on the 12v battery and don’t be afraid to persevere / keep...
Very similar experience a couple of weeks ago on my part! Had a large stone flicked-up from vehicle in front on M25 commute - hit in line with rear view mirror so couldn’t see damage at first, despite the bang, but once home a long crack was already apparent centred around a heavy chip in the...
Sorry, been offline for a while.
No further reader required for TPMS reprogramming - is all done within the SIPS/VDS software, which in turn requires an active RMI session (access purchased in 1 or 24hr slots). MG5 user manual does not state requirement for reprogramming wheels to a specific...
