    OBDII Alarm Trigger

First time I'd plugged it in since getting the MG4. It was the one I used to have in my Mk1 ZS EV. I'll probably just put it back in the drawer at home.

    OBDII Alarm Trigger

Hi everyone, Just a bit of a heads up. Plugged in the OBD2 sensor (Vgate iCar pro) this morning. Faffed around connecting it to an app, but then I got to work and locked the car. Got no further than 30ft away before the car alarm went off. Locked it, unlocked. Alarm stopped. Locked again...

    Pod Point Charge Rate

At places like the White rose centre, where there are multiple chargers installed, they are on an array system which balances the load. There is never enough power for all cars plugged in to pull 32A. When I worked at Pod Point it was a recurring complaint from customers, not understanding the...

    Infotainment issues

I've noticed this with Android Auto if I try to use voice command whilst moving. If the handbrake is on (such as at traffic lights) or I'm parked out works fine.

    New MG4 Shipment?

7th October, it was sent in a table within the email I got with an update. Included the VRM and the VIN.

    New MG4 Shipment?

Hi everyone. I ordered my MG4 Trophy Long Range Volcano Orange on 02/08/2022. I have been for a test drive and sorted out the finance, even been allocated a VIN and VRM. I was told the car would be at MG Chorley, Chorley for the beginning of November. I've spoken to them several times, and...

EB and Geniepoint Siemens rapid chargers

It shouldn't do that on a DC charger, AC it's quite common though.

EB and Geniepoint Siemens rapid chargers

During the handshake it may be worth holding on to the cable plug and making sure it is pushed all the way into the socket on the car until charging begins. The MG4 may have the same issue as some Polestars, ID3/ID4s because its charge port is so high on the side of the vehicle, the weight of...

Insurance for a 24 year old

I'm 28 with 7 years of driving, 6 years NCD no convictions - my quotes are currently £1450 a year. I did see somewhere on the forum that insurers are waiting for the 1st of November to fully support the MG4. Which having worked in insurance before, makes sense - as frustrating as it is.

    AC Charging Speed

Yeah, Pod Point Lidl chargers could help with this; they have tethered 22kW/43kW AC chargers on them

    AC Charging Speed

I would check the cable you're using. It will need to be a 32A three-phase cable, not just a 32A cable.

    Understanding smart / dumb charging

CCS chargers charge at DC, which goes directly into the battery which is DC. And receives the BMS percentage directly from the battery. Type 2 AC chargers connect to the converter/on board charger which converts the AC charge to DC and sends it to the battery. You can charge your car on a...

    Rapid charging an MG4

Just watch yourself on the price with them, though, as the prices have just been increased again for non-Teslas.

    Slow (AC) charging speeds

I can't begin to describe how many queries we get at work (Pod Point) from people angry they're only getting 7kW or 11kW from a 22kW charge point. There's really only the Zoe and the Smart EVs that can charge at 22kW in the UK, and even then the Zoe has numerous issues with earthing across a...

Just phoned Burnley and they are expecting their demo later this week, but aren't booking anyone in yet as they aren't sure it will arrive this week.
