There is a lot more required in the 2nd service so £220ish is expected and not unusual. With hindsight and a good dealership a 3 year service plan is the way to go .

Never ever go to Glyn Hopkins. Total rip off. All those charges are completely unnecessary for a car that’s done 2600 miles. I would demand my money back. Curious to know which branch you went to

I would avoid Glyn Hopkin. I have only experienced very poor customer service and their 1st service costs vary tremendously between their branches, as you have demonstrated. I would offer 2 alternatives: 1) Brown and Gammons in Baldock. £114 for the first service. Really knowledgable people...

Just use a small screwdriver and gently push through the holes from underneath. Very easy to do

What adapter are you using?

In my experience the quality of the cable is paramount. Belkin is mentioned on threads elsewhere as is the VW connector which I use. I had similar issues, but once I got a decent cable I have never had a seconds issue.
