    Worn out seat! Anyone else?

I’m so very very disappointed with MG. I’ve done less than 30k in my MG ZS EV and yet my driver seat is splitting. (See photos) I took it to an MG franchise albeit not the one I purchased my new vehicle from, and was sadly told the seats only have a twelve month warranty! I’ve had 29 cars...

    Off grid solar car charging

Sounds a brilliant project, well done! We have 14 solar panels, 13.5kWh batteries and type 2 charger. Our mk1 MG ZS is mostly powered by our lovely free sunshine. Would appreciate photographs of your setup.

    Worn out seat! Anyone else?

My MG ZS EV is booked in on 3rd July to assess my warranty claim for the seat material cracking. We’ll see how the franchise responds. I know the splits aren’t very big yet, but it doesn’t bode well for the future…

    Worn out seat! Anyone else?

I’ve just checked and discovered three tiny flaps in the material in my drivers seat squab on the right hand side, and I’ve only drive 26k miles so far. Please let me know how you get on claiming under warranty if you go down that avenue?

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

I’m with Intelligent Octopus Go, and it works really well with my Zappi & Eddi. All car charging, domestic water heating and dish washer was using off peak rate. On high solar generation days Zappi & Eddi automatically take surplus generation. Just had GivEnergy AIO batteries installed and...

    Octopus Intelligent Go

We have a series 1 ZS EV and a Zappi version 2. All works very well on Intelligent Octopus Go.

    MG ZS windscreen demisting

Yes indeed Tim, a/c uses some power, but I understand it uses less power than heating. Also being retired I have more time available for recharging, and most important I like to drive as safely as possible.

Zappi + Intelligent Octopus in beta

Signed up to IO about 19 days ago after several attempts. Works really well. Done a bump charge and lots of small 10% off peak 7.5p/kWh charges. I’ve discovered that I need to leave the Zappi in Eco++ mode when I plug in and Octopus handle from there.

    MG ZS windscreen demisting

Just keep air-conditioning on all the time, misting up will not be a problem.

    Solar with battery, loving it!

Hi Fred, That’s my understanding too. For me it is imperative that we avoid jeopardising our lucrative 25 year FiT deal. Ideally I would like to install a battery system that will work seemlessly with our setup supplied by Myenergi which includes a Zappi and an Eddi. I’ve received a quote...

    Solar with battery, loving it!

Hi Gary, I’ve received a quote from World of Solar which includes a GivEnergy hybrid inverter. They have assured me that it will not adversely affect our FiT contract, however having formally queried this, I’m waiting for their response.

    Solar with battery, loving it!

Hi, we have a similar setup but without batteries. We put quite a lot of surplus solar power into the grid therefore are looking to install batteries. I am concerned that most quotations we’ve received include hybrid inverters which would also handle solar generated power, but I’m worried that...

    Are electricians ripping us off?

Our Zappi install cost £2.1k minus £0.5k OLEV grant, but it also included Eddie, Hub and Harvi. The electrician knew everything there is to know about Myenergi products, and installation worked perfectly from day one! This was in February 2020. We are now looking for a 10kWh Libbi to be...

    No regen when braking

Yep, regents usually kicks in when you lift off the accelerator. Alter KERS setting to adjust level of regen/vehicle slowing. No regen when auto cruising. Note: Regen does not kick in when EV charged to 100%.

Which EV route planning app do you prefer please?

Yes I use Zap-map too but only because it was one of the first to provide the service, and although I’ve had the ZS over three years, I must only have done about half a dozen long trips requiring charging away from our Zappi.
