In ICE cars we all know that AC on means compressor on and loss of power/poorer fuel consumption. I've never noticed having the fan on gently made much difference to the MPG either.
Now when I turn the fans on, even at pretty much ambient temperature and leave it on low, the mileage drop...
Yeah it is nowhere near as aggressive as it ought to be saying “erm, ‘Fraid not, wait until off peak to charge”, just sorts you out cheap charging at any time off the day almost?!
There got to be some dodgy things to do with a battery (with or without solar!), given you can get guaranteed 15p...
Well I've never been so excited as to receive a leccy bill!
But it finally came today... and +10 points for @SteveMSJ and -100 for Octopus Energy's Customer Services! You were quite right Steve, the bill (fortunately electronic, rather than cutting down half a forest!) does show the half hour...

I will charge cautiously until I get my first bill… I’ve done enough ‘on peak’ off speak charging to see if it works.

Thanks. I think my 135 mile journey is about the worst from a charging etc POv - TBH I could have got here without any charge. But setting off with 100%, got to charging at 61% (91 miles), topped up to 80% (for £10.95!!!), and 44 miles later it was back down to 61%!!

I’m leaving at 6am… do I schedule it from 4:30am? What’s the point? It’s not that cold and by the time I get to charge I’ll have been driving for an hour and a half or more….

I suppose it helps that I just set it to 100% without the Ohme charger knowing what the SoC of the car is… but as long as it says “smart charging” I should be clear.
