    Vandalised chargers

Commonly used in the early to mid 70s when copper was scarce, the conductors were thicker to take account of this. They were a pig to work with!

    Theft Without Key

Yeah I had a P96 Xantia with a keypad. Reckon the keypad got intermittent because sometimes the car wouldn't accept the number. Got stranded a few times because of this, but eventually it would accept the number. Embarrassing though. Everybody thinking I'm a sad git who can't remember the code...

    Speeding. ?☹

I'm afraid I got caught doing 35 on a dual carriageway outside Blackpool Airport years ago. The road was a 40, but changed to a 30, then there were no more speed signs, as the lampost rule kicks in. Last time I went there, they had put some 30 signs up. Must have been some complaints. This was...

    Speeding. ?☹

Yeah, day by day, week by week, things are getting better. There was a time when progress was very slow but things are much better. I'm walking better now but speed is an issue. Whether I will ever walk as quick as I did before, IDK. I have a solicitor putting a case together, "no win no...

    Speeding. ?☹

This was 2005. I didn't have dash cam. I didn't have satnav and my phone didn't have a camera!

    Speeding. ?☹

It's OK sticking to the limit when you know it. But I was in a situation driving for work in Staffs. It was a 60 road coming into a 40. But the problem was the sign on the right hand side had been turned round and the one on the left was covered with foliage. But when I went back to get...

Anyone wash their car today? ?

Thanks but I don't understand what that lot does. You'll have to speak to me like I'm 10! What is a car gun and what do the interchangeable snozzles do? I saw once in an advert a Karcher with adjustable electronic settings but I can't find that and I can't see that lasting long.... The Stanley...

    Juddering Wipers

Yes, but on old cars with sloppy mechanisms. If the screen is clean and the blades are clean and in good condition, and the screen is wet, I'd say there shouldn't be any juddering. I'd run it back to the dealer and see what they suggest. A 6 week old car shouldn't be suffering that problem...

Anyone wash their car today? ?

Years ago I got a Stanley pressure washer from a large orange building. Used it on the last car we had and all was going swimmingly until it ripped some paint off the boot handle.....couldn't believe my eyes! Been terrified of using it, or indeed any pressure washer to clean the car ever...

    Sleeping in MG4 [merged thread]

All this talk of kipping in cars reminds me of my very first visit to the Smoke in 1985. This was my first car, my Grandad's 78 AlfaSud. Got there late, bought a kebab and chips, parked up and dozed off with my duvet tucked round me. Got woken up by a very kindly bobby at 06:30 who told me that...

    Theft Without Key

Well, I was just wondering if it was new... As they hand singled out Hyundai/ Kia. Does the Gameboy device work like the usual laptop grabbing information from unshielded keys? Or is it different?

    Theft Without Key

The subject of this theft happens not to be an MG, but in theory it could happen to any car. What I'm wondering, as I don't quite understand this bit of kit, is this: Has information been gleaned from the key or the car? In other words, would putting your keys in a Faraday pouch or box make...
