    A Cautionary Tale

Thanks for the suggestion. I don’t know whether I can get her to wear a collar but it’s worth a try. If nothing else I need a way of checking she is definitely not inside the belly of the car before setting off.

    A Cautionary Tale

A story as a warning to others. We set off to the supermarket in our MG4 gliding smooth and quiet out of the drive as usual. Over the speed bumps by the school. No traffic at junctions so didn’t come to stop until we were queuing for the roundabout in the centre of our town, nearly 2 miles from...

    Preheating battery!?

Both themes have the Battery Heating control and scheduling under Charging Management.

    Preheating battery!?

There are 2 theme settings for the app. One is ‘White’ and one is ‘100 Years’. Click on the bottom right icon to go to the menu and then select Theme Settings to swap between them.

Is it still worth exporting your home battery?

However, if you include a cost per kWh for the degradation of your batteries as say: BatteryCost/(capacity x cycle life) I think you’ll find it’s no longer worth it at 5p difference between import and export.

    What makes you feel old?

I learnt to drive and took my test in my mother’s Hillman Imp. The examiner was a bit distracted at seeing the road through some holes by his feet but passed me anyway😂 I loved that car❤️

    HVAC temp

Good point. There’s normally only 2 of us in the car. We sometimes have the grandkids as well but perhaps that hasn’t coincided with adverse conditions😊

    HVAC temp

Perhaps it depends on where you live. I’m in the uk and leaving it on auto I have very few problems with fogging up. I occasionally use the front and rear window demist functions, if necessary, with the physical buttons.

    HVAC temp

I too just leave it set to 21C Auto and it works perfectly for me all year round. I occasional nudge it up or down 1 degree with the right hand joystick, but very rarely. I’ve never had a car where the cabin heating works so well. This is in my 74 reg Trophy and since the software upgrades I...

Feeling stupid about my first public charge…

I went to Whinfell Forest Center Parcs last summer. Charging using the Monta app worked with no problems. You effectively get a reserved parking space. There was no cell phone coverage in the EV parking area so best to setup the app with a payment method in advance if you are going there...

    Home Assistant MG4

It creates a similar HA climate entity as wattmatters has shown above.

    Home Assistant MG4

Yes, I can start the climate control remotely from HA or from the App. One oddity is that the HA integration doesn’t show the heating/cooling running when you set it in the car. Some cons to this integration: It is not supported currently. It doesn’t check messages like the other integration so...

    Home Assistant MG4

It has a binary_sensor for the lock status of the car and individual binary_sensors for the open/closed status of each door, window, etc.

    Home Assistant MG4

This integration also has an instant_power sensor which shows the power to the motor or negative regeneration. I don't use it for anything as it is the value at a moment in time which isn't of much interest. Perhaps the other integration combined the two sensors into one, although I don't...
