Long story short, there’s this thread: https://www.mgevs.com/threads/enabling-trophy-release-features-on-an-se-model.20195/

    Mg4 fire

That could be a “Friday afternoon car” story, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the fire was somehow linked to the gearbox replacement, or at least to the way it was handled.

Unfortunately, you can’t use SIPS without credentials and a VDI/VNCI dongle. A simple OBD II adapter will not work. https://www.obd2sales.com/product/vnci-vdi3-diagnostic-interface/

It’s subjective, but I definitely felt a substantial difference after applying SC077, and Wifey noticed it too. Are you sure the update was actually carried out?

They should perform the update free of charge under warranty if you report issues, as they can then claim the cost back from MG Nederland through a warranty claim. Otherwise, whether they charge for updates is entirely up to the dealer. Some dealers are reluctant to perform module updates...

The infotainment version for your car is currently R63, but your vehicle contains around 20 other ECUs that manage various functions, from battery management to traction control or steering assistance. SC077 is not an infotainment update; it’s an update to some of these ECUs. Applying these...

R24 is definitely outdated. The latest version for your car is R63, though that has nothing to do with SC077; it’s simply the infotainment system, which can be updated using a USB stick. SC077 involves updating the FDR (front radar) as well as a few other ECUs using a diagnostic tool and...

EU MG4 (all variants) - Service campaign SC077 is out, improving lane assist performance

When driving uphill: the car starts and stops more smoothly than it did before I applied SC077. When reversing uphill: the car slips on gravel and jerks out of a stop. When driving downhill: the car remains smooth and easy to control. When reversing downhill: it sort of bangs into gear, but...

I also find that the car feels noticeably smoother with SC077. As I usually drive in one-pedal mode, I didn’t notice any change in the regenerative braking levels. However, the car is easier to control at low speeds, particularly when stopping and pulling off uphill. From what I understand...

I think that you can find many people here that are more knowledgeable about SIPS, updates and ECUs than the average dealer… That’s a shame…
