Hi there, we bought a gen 1 zs EV brand new for 15,500€.
Charging/ range : we mainly charge at home using the granny charger overnight between 24 hrs and 08:00. Usually charge at about 20%.
Range winter : 245 kms; summer 340kms.
On my Gen 1 car it definitely fires up the brake lights when in KERS 3 - no question about it. I check in the rear view mirror and look for road signs on the opposite side on the road - easy to spot.
Initially I tried driving with lane keep assist on, and got a number of 'Phantom Braking' episodes which were unnerving to say the least. I put it down to the camera 'seeing' hedges/fences on sharp bends. As soon as I found a way of completely deleting this system I have no further problems.
Hi there, l've had mine for 2yrs and 20,000 Kms and I still get a bit exited every time I drive her.
Consumption during colder months is 14kw/hr per 100 Kms and I charge overnight at home using a standard quality domestic socket.
Works like a dream...
Hi Simon, I've had our October 2021 ZS EV Gen 1 car since October, she has done about 19,000 km.
She is charged overnight from a quality outdoor socket from midnight to 8am and is always fully charged on that regime.
During the warmer months my range is about 300 km (190 miles approx) and...
OK I hear what you say, but it makes no sense. There is an EV with no ICE, a hybrid with a petrol engine or a full ICE version.
Also why would they use the french word "essence" in a car name for New Zealand ???????????
Also, making it more confusing, I tried to search for MG NZ and I got a...
?????????????
What do you mean by "what happens........", if the car asks for more juice you will pay for the extra leccy at the tariff quoted in your contract .
Well I really like my ZS EV. It ended up costing me (bought in Dec 2021) 15,500€ and a battered old diesel van.
I have done about 17,500 kms in it up to now and apart from a little mishap which started off as my fault but amplified hugely by the MG garage, it has been perfect.
For 90% of the...
Well of course it was never going to be that straightforward was it ?
Since getting my EV back I've only used it 3 or 4 times so not much charging involved.
But as I was going a bit more of a distance (birthday lunch) I thought I'd connect up and charge overnight. To my complete surprise...
I don't understand this and I'll explain why.
There are occasions when the car has been charging overnight and continues to charge even at 8am when I disconnect charging (at the house socket end).
By your logic this could create a spike and cause damage to the car but :
A. I've never suffered...
Well to answer your question I'm not sure, principally because there seems to be a battle going on between the garage and the Insurance 'Expert'. I've been led to believe that the ins. guy is saying that the principal damage - front grill and new granny charger is probably 500-ish euros; but I...
