    Problems with granny lead

That's right my brother discovered that attaching it to the heavy duty lead used for lawn mower works just fine. We both have ohm chargers at our homes in Sheffield. But when we go away to my brother's bungalow in Bridlington we just plug into an external socket. Overnight we tend to be able to...

    Problems with granny lead

Have you got your granny charger attached to an extension lead? If so it needs to be a heavy duty one. My brother discovered that attaching it to a standard extension lead it would not charge for more than a few minutes.

    Rear window heating

I'm pleased I don't have one ..not missed it and on my other cars was a pain having to replace the blade through lack of use.

Issue with AC charging/New CCU fitted (Phase One SE LR)

We have two MG4 Trophys and one developed the faults you've described. A faulty CCU was at fault and replaced by the dealer under warranty. All is fine now.

    Active Grille system

We have two MG4 Trophys and the grill opens and a dedicated fan for cooling the battery switches on. When the car is switched off the grill will close and fans switch off at varying times ... But usually within a few seconds. Very rarely does it open in anything but very warm weather.

Unable to charge with CCS chargers

I would get an MG dealer to check the CCU as the same issue happened with my brother's car. It was replaced within 2 days and has worked well since ?.

Car not charging to Health Mode, defaults to 100%

I've never had this problem as I set mine to 80% when just around town and 100% for long journeys. My range is always above 268 miles and on a couple of occasions, after a mixed road (motorway , A and B roads) long journey I have had a range of 320 miles when in eco mode. I use eco mode on...

    Looking to switch to EV

To keep costs realistic you really do need some form of home charging. The public network is by far too expensive.

Fails to charge at 7 kW at home

Our two MG4s on one drive. You can see the Ohme charger by the front door. The blue one had the new CCU (Combined Charge Unit) fitted.

Fails to charge at 7 kW at home

We had this problem with one of our MG4s. We have two identical MG4 TROPHYs. As we are also neighbours and have ohme chargers we simply swapped our cars and tried the different chargers. By this we discovered it was one of the cars which had a fault, a common one on the first MG4s, and that...

Impact of KERS on tyre wear

I would have thought that slowing down is slowing down and wears tyres out regardless which method you use (brakes or KERS). Surely it should depend upon the severity of the braking which can be controlled in both cases by whether you stamp on the brakes or by being gentle and progressive, and...

Battery Life down to 242 miles rather than 275

The above site on you tube is excellent ... I have often referred to these. I hope this helps.

    Ohme home charger tripping

Thanks.for that .. so the phase 2 models don't appear to have any similar problems? Just wondered as a relative is thinking of buying an MG4 TROPHY but Extended Range. I assume no one has reported having to have the CCU replaced twice? The replacement has proved reliable?

    Ohme home charger tripping

Lol we have two ohm chargers ... One tethered and the other obviously untethered. We used to use the home app but we both now just use the MG app to control all charging. Proved to be much easier. These are our cars. You'll see the untethered one next to to door. A much neater everyday solution...
