The frunk!

Maybe of Interest
The whole thing less than £7.50. The 3D printed brackets look fabulous and would make the process more professional

Don't know why anyone would want a frunk, much easier to open the boot.

It depends.

If you keep the cables beneath the boot floor and you've got a bunch of stuff on top of it having the cubby in the front, with them in, is a convenient option.

Having more space is a positive thing.

I'm not sure some the implementations here I would be happy with, but they seem to work.

I don't keep it beneath the boot floor, why would I do that? If I have the boot fully packed and I think I might need to access it I keep it under the drivers seat, simple.

It sounds like the extra space isn't for you then. Don't spoil the fun here ?

How do jo get inserts into the narrow rectangular holes at the end of the bar?
The inserts are heated and pushed into the plastic normally using a soldering iron. It's worth having a few 'trials' to get the process right if you haven't used them before.

This thread is very interesting and being new to the MGZS I'd not given any thought to that unused space. I'm definitely going to take advantage of it. Then I got to thinking about how new cars don't come with a spare wheel and I've found a supplier online of a space saver wheel with jack and wheel brace for about £60. Would a space saver wheel fit in the space if I constructed a bracket to hold it in place?

I would say zero chance. There's depth, but not the width and length you need.

Needs to go in the space that has been designed for it.

I'm looking for a spare, are they new or second hand?

I can never understand, what's the advantage of having a cable moving around in a relatively harder to access under bonnet storage, when they can so easily be stored under the boot floor!
But that just me.

A MG ZS will never be a Tesla even with a £4 B&Q plastic storage box bolted under the bonnet! ?

.

Hello,

New, I was looking on the

And the

Site, but when I said £60 above I confused it with the price of my wife's wheel for her car. These are about £100 to £120 new.

Regards
Rob

I could agree but there’s no point in us both being wrong ??

You are repeating a point someone already made.

Here's the scenario:

You are on holiday in France with the car full of kids and junk.

You stop at a supermarche for an hour and want to top up on a free AC charger.

You open the boot to retrieve the AC cable from underneath the boot floor and are confronted by a tower of suit cases, random bags and gear that's literally falling out of the boot as you open it.

Does that sound like a whole bunch of fun?

I rest my case - so to speak ?

Reminds me of holidays with my old Peugeot 5008...no way I can have a tower of suitcases in ZS, small backpack each....?? I wish they made it 50 cm longer ...

Can we please stop calling it a frunk We're not Americans ( most of us I think ) we do not have a trunk! we have a boot, therefore it should be called a Froot .
I'm going to start a campaign!
Can't even call it a Froot on ZS considering they are mostly DIY disused beer crates... ?
