Booked in my 5th year service for my MG ZS EV (2019) and they quoted me £315.60, just had a look on the website and it's saying 5th year service is £268.80. I plan to call them on Monday, but just curious as to how much other people have paid for theirs? Thanks.

2029? is that a typo or this is part of a service plan where you pay monthly direct debit?
No typo, yes service plan at £20.34 a month for 5 years.

Here’s what I’m paying, that includes years 3, 4, 5, MOTS

ZS Electric 15k/1 year Service Oct 2025 5000 £114.00
ZS Electric 30k/2 year Service Oct 2026 10000 £206.04
ZS Electric 45k/3 year Service Oct 2027 15000 £114.00
ZS Electric 60k/4 year Service Oct 2028 20000 £239.90
ZS Electric 75k/5 year Service Oct 2029 25000 £271.80

Edit
Does not include MOTS but overall I pay £20.34 a month for 5 years.

MOT Oct 2027 N/A £54.85
MOT Oct 2028 N/A £54.85
MOT Oct 2029 N/A £54.85

Ah yes, I went for the same thing, by 2029 it will be like £100 today ....
Exactly, I keep my cars so it makes sense to lock it all in at once.
Last car I had was a Mazda cx5 which I had for 11 years. Never broke down on me once, not even a bulb blew.
Just hoping i get reliability with the MG EV.

I was just looking at the figures.

£20.34 a month for five years works out at £1,220.
The five services together comes to £946, making the plan £274 more expensive.

Am I missing something here?

I’ve not totalled it up but just had a look, there’s actually only 58 payments instead of 60.

Payments
Service Price * £1,179.89
Plan Price £1,179.89
*inc. Management Fee of 58 x £1.20
Payment Schedule
First Payment Date 01/12/2024
Last Payment Date 01/09/2029
Payments
1 payment x £20.51 from Dec 2024
57 payments x £20.34 from Jan 2025

I'd prefer to put the £1,179.89 in a savings account for 5 years and get the interest, taking an amount out each year to pay for the service. :)

But it wouldn’t be that price would it as costs go up each year. Least I know I’m locked into that price so when it goes up which it will do I’ll still be paying what I’m paying now.

Hi everyone - a note of caution: It might be worth checking that you actually have AA cover!
I have had my MG4 serviced by a main dealer for two years and this year while looking at the AA new breakdown cover card, I questioned if I needed to log my details with the AA so (after looking at the MG and AA websites) I called the number on the card. The person who answered told me that on their records, my AA membership lapsed at the end of 2023!
Glad I found that out from the comfort of my own home and not on a motorway hard shoulder.
He asked if my car had been serviced by an MG dealer and when I said yes he said I should check this with MG.
I returned to the dealer and after a bit of head scratching it turns out that neither last year's service or this one had been logged by the dealer in a certain part of the MG website (although all the service details were correct) and therefore my cover had lapsed. I have been assured by the dealer this has now been corrected but I will be checking again with the AA in the New Year.

Worth considering the impact of inflation, which has been significant in the motor industry of late for repairs and servicing due to a shortage of skilled mechanics. This has caused huge wage inflation as garages fight to attract and retain mechanics, which along with big increases in the cost of parts and consumables has caused a surge in prices. A service plan protects you from inflation.

@EV convert - you are right; it’s important to check. My car wasn’t recorded with MG Assistance after its first service, and I had to chase the garage to get it done. The car had its second service in November, and this time everything was recorded properly.

My 5 year Service Plan is just £15 per month since new from my local MG Dealer.
