I had the same issue at the same charger yesterday, wish I’d read these posts first!Just had this vehicle system control fault from a grid serve @ north Strensham services. I have 2022 zs ev long range 2 months old: I just turned everything off and went and got some food when I returned it had gone away so I put the car back on a different charger and all seemed to be ok. I read elsewhere that this fault can occur from when the 12v battery is depleted and by leaving it for 5 mins with everything off and locked it fixes itself.
I had the same on my 2020 ZS when I didn't confirm the charge on a Tesco's Podpoint 7kW AC charger and the charger stopped the charge. Thanks for watching - I’ve never seen anyone else say that an AC charger has caused this issue so I’d be very interested to see how it goes for you.
Can you even remove a still powered plug?I had the same on my 2020 ZS when I didn't confirm the charge on a Tesco's Podpoint 7kW AC charger and the charger stopped the charge.
It seems the car doesn't like a sudden power cut.
I was wondering what the screen was showing when you disconnected the plug, i.e. was it still powered and did the sudden removal of the plug cause the issue ?
I don't know TBH, I've never tried it, I just assumed that if the car is unlocked that the plug is too ?Can you even remove a still powered plug?
Our Trophy LR was collected in mid March 22 and I know it missed the software update, because it was only released late March early June 22 I believe.Very annoying if it is missing the software update. I bought it in July 22, and it was just in for it's first service with MG two weeks ago.
I just experienced this issue, disconnected the 12V for about 3mins and reconnected. All back to normal.I had exactly the same errors appear a few weeks back.
Car was dead.
AA came and took it away on a flatbed back to dealer.
Many tests / checks were carried out in conjunction with MG UK.
All the checks came back fine and nothing could be found wrong on my vehicle.
MG UK called me after I got vehicle back and told me all they found was a tiny power spike from my home Wallbox charger.
The ZS had then cut off the control circuit via the 12v supply being made available to bring in high voltage system. This is to stop any damage to the HV. Batteries ( this is what MG told me ).
I was also told to reset this issue to remove negative cable on 12v battery and leave for 10 minutes then reconnect.
I have had no more issues and still have the same Wallbox charger.
I think it’s just one of these things
If it happens again I’ll just disconnect the battery.
MG UK told me that since the launch of the MG EV I was only the 6th car that had been reported with this fault.
I just carry a spanner now.
Good thing about this is that you have likely had the patching that fixes the issues on Tesla superchargers tooHad mine into MG, they did a bunch of updates. 5 or 6. They weren't sure if any of them would help as they were unsure what happened.
Bit annoying that it was in with MG for its service and they didn't do all the updates.
Note for anyone else putting it in for a service. Specifically ask them to check and update anything out of date.
I have taken note of all the solutions offered and will prepare myself for a repeat. Is there in fact an explanation for this beyond s**t happens?
If you service your car with MG garage, you get free cover for 1 year, there is a number to call to check whether you are covered. if not, ask your MG garage to update records and arrange itWasn't aware that I had that...
Many thanks. I have not had the car for a year yet so I am still a way off from any service. If you service your car with MG garage, you get free cover for 1 year, there is a number to call to check whether you are covered. if not, ask your MG garage to update records and arrange it
