I'm trying to find instructions on how to update the Australian built-in Sat Nav maps for the an MG ZS EV 2023.

I've seen several threads that all point to instructions on how to update the EU maps, but I can't seem to find anything for the AU maps and it appears that the ones installed in my car are from 2021. I'm assuming the instructions are going to be fairly similar to the EU upgrade, but I have no idea where to find the link for the AU files.

Thanks! Yes I've been through those threads, however all the links are for the EU maps, so im assuming i need the dedicated AU/NZ maps.

Can I ask where you found that email address?
I’ve just had a look & there are maps listed for AU/NZ, maybe drill down further?

This adress for SAIC Btisbane was suggested by another owner a few months ago. Seems to have worked well for me when I had Qs about roadside assist in the regions etc.

They had a quick & cear response & so I was quite happy.

Ah, from what i can tell is the Mk1 updates were done through the naviextras but since the MK2 (facelift) they appear to be done by downloading all new maps manually. Mine is a 2023 model which i believe is the MK2.

Hello Atreyu
please share the link for AU/NZ 2023 map data
Thank you

There's an interesting tutorial here, but I'm assuming this is for UK maps (?)

I have been trying for the past couple of days to update my maps and just seem to be going in circles and getting nowhere.

I have registered with Naviextras using their toolbox but can't get past the Welcome screen. How the hell do you create a fingerprint? My old D-Max had a Clarion unit and you could pull out the memory card and put it into the computer but how do you do it with the MG Touch unit?

Current maps are 2022 and from what I have read I can get free updates for the next 5 years but HOW?

I am seriously thinking of not using it and setting up my old Samsung Galaxy A20 and leaving it permanently in the car.

The best solution is wireless dongle (about $15-$20 from AliExpress) for android auto and then use Google maps with live traffic updates and the latest maps ... nothing beats live Google map.

Here again it seems various new models were launched with incomplete software, my MG3 Hybrid is 4 months old and also has outdated maps. After several emails to MG UK I finally was told that a software update will be rolled out sometime in the future. In the meantime, I use Waze or AmiGO, via my phone, both of which I know are up to date.

When I last updated my in car satnav, the update itself was about 6 months old. It's not MG but a third party provider. You only get 5 years of updates in Europe. Overall, not worth bothering, Waze or Google maps are much better.
