Was the space behind the seats originally intended for dogs?

Has anyone used the "pet hook" behind the seat to transport their pet in the Cyberster?

On page 72 of the official car manual, there's a paw print on the top half of the small hook in between the two manual emergency door opening switches.

This can be seen also on YouTube videos of international versions of the car (I'm based in the UK).

I'm intrigued (if not hopeful).

Cybersters I have seen reviewed outside of the UK seem to have the paw printed on the latch, but not uk models.

Maybe MG think it might be in danger of encouraging owners to break the law. Under UK law your pet is supposed to be tethered in such a way that they can’t distract you. If they are tethered ibetween the two seats their head would be within easy reach of the driver and passengers own head, and they might be tempted to give their owner a friendly lick in the ear!
