There was still air left as I was parkingThat's some serious puncture if it's damaged the wheelDid you drive on it flat for some time?
How come the wheel was damaged then? There was still air left as I was parking
AA said it might need replacingHow come the wheel was damaged then?
It has good tyre threadWhere exactly on the tyre is the puncture? How much tread is left on the tyre?
You might be able to repair it with something like this:
(I used a similar kit after getting a puncture on my Golf GT back in 2012, about 2 weeks after getting the car. After the tyres were rotated during one of the services, all 4 tyres needed replacing some 40k+ miles later ... the repaired tyre never lost any pressure).
Blackcircles is a good starting point. You haven't said what size they are though - could be 17" or 18" on a 2023 Trophy.Anyone know links to tyres i will need to buy if need replacing
It is unlikely that you actually need to replace that tyre.
AA said MAYBE needs tyre replacement.but I'm still confused as to why the AA thought the wheel needed replacing too.
Just as proof, so you can see where the confusion arose. My wheel may need replacing. Any advised on the tyre type I need to get?
Aren't they the same thingeh... you said wheel before, not tyre?
Thanks. I might just take it to the garage to have a look at.General understanding:
Tyre = The bit that's made of rubber.
Wheel (also often referred to as a Rim) = The thing the tyre fits onto.
Coming back to your original question, if the wheel is undamaged and it's only a puncture, that looks repairable so no new tyre required.
