How many amps does everyone's pull mine claims 10amps on the back yet only ever seems to get to 9amps at 240v so pulling 2170 ish Watts from the socket.

Just noticed as the voltage dropped to 238v its now pulling 9.1amps. I guess its programmed to draw no more than 2.2kW?

Can't use the app as it's still bound to someone else and still waiting on v5c.

With the car on it says 1.6kW so hoping more goes into the battery with it all off

No, it's based on current. The original intent was to protect wiring, which is sensitive to I²R heating. The I represents current. In countries with mostly nominally 120 V outlets, a 10 A EVSE will draw no more than 1.2 kW!

The change from 9.0 to 9.1 A is only one Least Significant Digit; the current might have been right on the boundary (about 9.05 A). So you can't assign much meaning from such a change.

Drawing ~10% less than nominal is pretty poor, I'll agree. I suspect that MG cars tend to err on the low side, so that they will never exceed the rated current, which is a reasonable, cautious approach. That may extend to MG branded EVSEs. Even so, 5% each seems excessive in today's world.
