Rear washer stopped working - brake system to be stripped to repair

Hi all, mine has come off again, 3 times now…. Booked in again for repair 12th February…. Car is not very reliable…. This is the tip of the iceberg with issues I have had. Hey ho….
Just let you know when my technician did my car he put in a extension tube as the one in the wiring loom is a bit short and putting in the extension takes the strain off the tube.

Poor design - pipe freezes and pops off. Mine has been in the garage for repair for a week now - I must check rear washer before I take it away after the cold weather.
You need to use stronger mix of screen wash, I use auto glym screen wash and make it up myself and and had no problems over this cold spel.

Hi all. I am experiencing this issue. I took it to my local dealer in Stoke this morning. They explained what they thought was the
cause of the issue and said it would not be covered under the warranty because it is the drivers fault by using the rear wash on a frosty morning or when there was no water in the reservoir. I assured them this was not the case but they said they had seen this so many times and knew what the cause was. I'm not happy at all.
There are two MG dealers in the Stoke area. One is brilliant, another one isn't.

Just out of interest is the good deal a small one and the not good one a larger dealer.

Got mine fixed yesterday under warranty by Toomey Basildon, top service as always from this dealer

Hi
Been looking at a Citron C4 EV and got a price from them, are they a good company?

I've had two Xantias and a C5. Thje only problem I ever had with any of them was with the second Xantia when discs and pads had to be replaced at 1500 miles. Probably a faulty batch as I had no further problems with them. The other two cars while I had them were trouble free. That said I sold the first Xantia to my sister at 96,000 trouble free miles only for it at 105,000 mls to suffer a failure of the crown wheel which exited through the gear box caseing. Not a failure I've seen mentioned with regard to Citroens before.

My rear washer water stop a few week ago, taken in to garage today for repair which could not be done by the poor technician who was pulling his hair out. A pipe has come off on the back wall in the engine bay up in the right corner next to the brake servo, from here to the back the pipe runs in the wiring loom and he could get hold of the end that had come off but could not get it to come down to fit the other end. They will need to have the car back to drain the brake system and strip out the servo to repair the pipe, the thinking is that the pipe in the wiring loom was cut short. Still a good car and still very pleased with it.
Our MG hs 2021 has been in the MG garage in Farlington, Hampshire for 6 days now with the same problem!!?

My daughter has just had this problem - the disconnection of the pipe in the engine compartment. Her local MG dealer said £130 +VAT for them to do a diagnostic check and see what it is. If it is just reconnecting the pipes they can do that but if it's something else it'll cost more to sort. They're having a laugh, surely?

Why the diagnostic check when we all know what's wrong. I can see this costing her a small fortune.

The car is under warranty but they said it's not a warranty job.

I had a look at the weekend but the access is too tight for my big hands. I feel sure an old skool mechanic and a set of forceps would be able to do the job, or maybe someone has worked out a way to do it themselves?

Or does anyone know a small mech on the west side of Birmingham or thereabouts who wouldn't charge an arm and a leg?

It was done under fot my car you may do it with very long nose pliers but I tried many times and give up.

Well her husband's cousin managed to fix the pipe back together after persevering for 45 minutes. He's going to try to put a cable tie on too. She owes him a beer!!!

Hi
The cable tie is a good idea the garage did put on a bit of pipe as the existing tubing is tight.

Wrong. It’s a faulty design. Pipes should not come off in the 2020’s.

You can not pump ice so something will give way it’s that pipe or the back washer pipe. Nothing to do with a faulty design.

It’s the only car that I have had that pops the pipe. And seems to be so for many other owners.
MG are fixing with a pipe extension because of the fault and charging customers £130 for the pleasure.
Design fault.

My one was done for free under warranty
