The rotary gear selector has started sticking on my car and not returning with the sprung mechanism.
If it sticks on D drive when I select the car wont move. Booked in with my MG dealer for 4th march. Stated they needed car all day and offered a courtesy car.
Advised it should be covered under warranty unless its dirt in the mechanism and than I would be charged for labour and the courtesy car cost.
Will let everyone know how I get along. Has anyone else had this issue?

I knew it. 😁
Let us know what your dealer offers as solution and whether it will solve the problem.
My problem started during the colder times. Had no issues during summer. So I think it might be a general, well let's call it "design problem" which won't be solved if they just replace it with the same designed components. Just a thought in my mind...

Sounds like my much discussed Emissions fault warning, where eventually on the third attempt the faulty component was replaced.
If and when a problem becomes widespread enough, they relent and supply a relevant part that resolves the issue.
I have a very low opinion of MG UK Aftersales service, after a puncture in one tyre necessitated purchasing two tyres as the make and model fitted to the car from factory were initially only available in Australia, and are now obsolete.
I have discussed this elsewhere on this forum, but in a nutshell both my selling dealer and MG UK offered absolutely nothing by way of contribution towards the cost of the two new tyres for the ONE puncture! DISGRACEFUL after sales customer care - put simply if they are not legally obliged to assist, then they won't!

Same problem on my MG3, no doubt due to the winter period.

The gear selector on mine sticks when I turn it to D and doesn't spring back to the centre as it used to do. However, it doesn't seem to affect the vehicle's function in any way from a driving point of view.
If I turn it to R that side does return to centre. Perhaps a drop of WD40 would sort the problem out.
