The great big insurance rip off

I suppose the lower premium may be largely due to the fact that Caliban is nearly two now, so not so valuable, and maybe the availability of parts is better.
 
My sole speeding ticket was in 1976 in the firms van! I just hate fines of any sort, but especially parking and speeding, so diligently try to avoid them.

The stretch of road where I road tested an AC "Ace" with Jaguar 4.2 engine at 120mph didn't have speed cameras - I'd checked the day before! :LOL:
 
Sounds like my dad when he "tested" a Triumph Stag when they first came out at 110mph along the local dual carriageway with no speed cameras.
He got caught speeding a couple of years later in an Allegro in Birmingham. One side of the dual carriageway was 40 the other side was 30. He got caught on his way back.

I worked on a lot of Allegros during my time in the motor trade, and I have to admit to quite liking them. Easy enough to work on, easy to get parts, and the hydrolastic suspension, when it worked, worked very well.

I drew the line at the Quartic steering wheel though 😧

Plus being personally liable for any damage or injury you cause.

That's unlimited liability. May not be so important to a penniless lawbreaker, who can just go bankrupt.

But it may be more significant if you have any assets or savings, that would need to be used to compensate for damage you cause in an accident.
