Hello all,

First post in the forum, I've had my cyberster for a 5 weeks now and absoutely love it.

I parked it on my drive the other day and wanted to see if it would auto lock/turn off if left for a period of time.

After 5 minutes it was still on and wanted to ask if the car will turn its self off/lock if left unattended should we walk away and forget to lock it?

Thanks all

Lee

🙂👍

My MG4 will turn itself off after a while, takes a lot longer than 5 minutes. It never locks though. I have forgotten to lock it and discovered it the following day - all off, just not locked. My guess is it waits 30 minutes or so then shuts off.

When we first had ours we went to McDonalds, had a meal inside - came back heat @ 28 (roof was off when we arrived) stifling inside lights and radio still on. Anyone could have driven it away. Minimum 25 minutes. Anybody know how to auto lock apart from press and hold the door button/key fob? Also have a Tesla so its just what you get used to!

Don't think it could be driven away. If you had the key. 🙂👍

Mine doesn't lock by itself but that's better - what if I left the key inside by accident?

I think that cars are supposed to detect that the key is inside, and not lock in that case.
I don't know (and I'm not going to test it 😂) but it would be good to know what happens if the key was left in the car whilst trying to lock it .... For some reason, I think someone on this forum managed to lock it in the car but might be just my imagination...

What I do know is that you can't lock it if the car is still turned on, it honks and won't lock.

I think it would be nice to get a notification on the phone from the app to tell car has been open for xxx time. That is the way Tesla does it if you leave a door open or something.
