MG4 XPOWER
Just wanted to make this point after diving the 24/25 mg HS for nearly a week ..

Ive noticed huge improvements to the infotainment system that needs to be implemented into the MG4 / Xpower range namely bluetooth is like 100% better hardly drops out / or needs re pairing almost everytime you get back into the car
( im not sure if this is on the hardware lvl of fix or just better software but much better )

The infotainment menus are much more intuitive and alot cleaner ..

Heres to hoping that MG can fix some or the shabby Infotainment issues with the current MG4s and Xpowers !!

I have had one issue with it everything went static ( remember the old tube tvs ants on tv static ) had all screens like that then cameras wouldnt show stuff after a few hard resets it sorted itself ..

I recommend ( if the interest compels you to do so ) to take a look at the new 2024 25 MG HS its quite a decent car..

like i said in another post add AWD , 200kw and make it EV at a 55k - 60k aud price point with is current ride and drive and it will beat the likes of most other EV suvs out there..

Havent got any full side pics but it gives me jaguar f pace vibes side on !!

My X power is at latest I think r59 once connected fine but it’s the constant re pairing that’s annoying..

I should be able to get out of my car leave when I return it should be connect with no troubles 5/10 times that’s not the case..

Easier to connect than before. It used to be an absolute pain in the arse to re connect with multiple attempts some tines 5 minutes plus before success!!

I find the infotainment system responds fine for me. I don't need/use bluetooth/carplay etc, never have done on any car I've had and the MG4 system provides way more info than I need while driving.

I like to listen to my own music when I drive and the hands free phone set up is very very helpful ..

Wired car play is kinda lame for today’s standards and like I said the Bluetooth is meh at best ..

So I use it all the time ..

The infotainment system does freeze up sometimes and is not overly responsive and slow to load ..

It needs either better software or better hardware..

My phone is always switched off when I'm driving and the radio provides lots if music variety. Just catch up with any missed calls when I stop or end the drive. No need for bluetooth when driving. On a flight, yes, bluetooth noise cancelling headphones, blue tooth mouse for tablet etc but never in the car.

I agree. Whats the point in paying for a version with “all the toys” when they are cheap & unreliable. I have had the same trouble with mine. I’ve tried premium cables & a wireless dongle, when the dongle works its fantastic! But step out of the car & then set off again & its 💩. Worst is when you’re following sat nav in car play & boom it all stops.
I am 15 months in from brand new & have Nextbase front & rear hardwired in so its a nice place to be. However I would love a reliable up to date software solution considering the purchase price.

It's a poor system combination between poor hardware and software

Had my X Power for 5 months now. And never had any trouble at all. With the "infotainment" system. Does exactly what I want. 🙂👍

My goto is to plug in the phone, and via Android Auto, ask Alexa to do everything on my behalf.
(Music, Radio, Nav etc)

Turning Off LKA is the only thing I do at startup.

I was reasonably happy with infotainment but since I've had my id buzz van for a month it shows how crap the mg is it's like having a Tesco huddle compared to an I pad
It becomes more evident just how poor it is when you have daily access to another makes system

The problem is that the vast majority of people will want to have their phone connected as the car is supposed to have the capability, as it states on the spec sheet.

It's a system full of bugs and issues, the fact that some people have a stable system should be enough for MG to ensure that everyone's car behaves the same, exactly the same with the safety systems.

This problem could be rectified with ota updates (another thing MG stated the car was capable off) and it would save numerous trips to dealers and fights to get updates done without cost.
MG are now not enabling ota updates as they have discovered how flaky and unstable their system is as it carries the risk of bricking the car, as has happened, if things go wrong with the updates.
Imagine the fallout from customers if they went out to a bricked car on their drive in the morning and couldn't get to work due to a failed update overnight.
That would result in more complaints than they currently experience in relation to the crap software.

The car suits all of my needs, in fact it exceeds them. Best new car I've bought and I've had BMWs, Porsches, VWs. Lots of 'issues' are user created and resolved by reading the supplied manuals. Ho hum, loving mine😎

It's good that your car works but lots of people are having issues and expecting specced equipment to work as advertised.
Reading the user manual will have no bearing on most of the faults people are experiencing and I'd be interested what issues you are stating are user created.
As crap software, crap safety systems, oil leaks, under tray bulges, X power vibe/hums are not user created and to try and say faults are is taking defending MG to another level

The X Power performance is certainly on another level but the three brands you mention are on another level in terms of interior quality (comparing modern models) to even suggest the MG4 is on a comparable level in terms of interior quality is laughable.

As I've said before bang for buck nothing beats the X power but let's not get carried away
