So Ive ordered a HS PHEV for delivery in May, and would find it helpful if you can reposition where the actual speed limit is displayed or can you get some speedometer like dials which are usually on cars ? reason is when I had a test drive I like to have the steering wheel lower than the standard position that it was a struggle to actually see what speed I was actually travelling at ? just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and whether or not there is any sort of adjustment to move where the actual speed is displayed on the screen ?

Can you get a plug and play HUD.
(Head up Display) It's a possibility, worth looking into. 🙂👍

Something like this. There's loads on the market.

It just seemed a massive oversight to me as I lilke to have the steering wheel adjusted down (apparently this is called the tilt of the steering wheel), due to my liking resting wrists on my thighs whilst driving, and noted on the test drive that with it down like this the top of the steering wheel seemed to be right where the actual speed was in the default display position ? im sure I can adjust the position I have of the steering wheel if it is obscured, but seemed ridiculous to allow adjustment of steering wheel position. with their seemingly being no speedometer dial etc. ? as I believe it is just a standard LCD type computer display I would have thought it would be a simple software tweak / update option to allow amendments of the display and position of icons etc ?

The screen set up is as it is you will not be able to move anything on it and if you do it yourself you will not be covered by the warranty on the whole car.

no not trying to actually move the whole lcd display instead just the positioning of current speed being shown in centre top of the display I would prefer it to be say centre bottom of the display - if I need it there so I can use the adjustable tilt and reach of the steering wheel to get it in a position which is most suited to my driving position. I am 5ft 9 - 10 which is bang on average height for a UK male and yet when I adjust the steering wheel tilt to be in a lower position for comfort the only form of speed display in the vehicle is obscured. Im sure Ill get used to it or move my head around to see the speed, but I thought the police classed the speed you drive at as quite important ?

The position of characters on the LED display will be fixed and not be able to be moved. You will not be able to get into the software to rejig the characters on the screen or nor would I think MG would be able to do this for one person.

I'm looking for them to tweak the programming slightly to have ability to adjust the position of the speed display as an option in the software, I work in IT and we have developers at my company this sort of adjustment via a system option or feature would literally be 20 minutes or less for a competent developer trust me it is so simple. Much better that than me getting 3 points or a ban from the fuzz with my excuse of being - "well I couldn't tell you what speed I was doing as the speed display is blocked behind the steering wheel" - Thsi is an absolute key safety feature. Especially once ive disabled the annoying beep for speed limit or have some sort of setting / tolerance on those beeps. The LCD display is literally just the same as your tv at home there are not lots of different coloured elements and a reason it has to be in the centre 1 inch down from the top, it could be 1 inch up from the bottom or on the right had centre as when looking at the Owners manual there did not seem to be any sort of other icons below it. Think of your android or apple phone or tablet it is very easy to drag icons around the display to put them where you want them etc. but a simple top middle or bottom option would save the blue flashing lights, and body cavity searches.
