Great day out with your MG? Post up a picture ?

:)

What I struggle to understand is that the Kona from the side seems to have been designed with Ioniq 5 styling cues, but at each end of the car, the designers abandoned this idea and went freestyle!

I do admire Hyundai for their build quality, general reliability and styling (apart from the afore-mentioned bits!).

I sourced a 2018 i30 Tourer for my middle lad and he loves it and I am very impressed with it too!
I chose the Kona (alternative would have been e-Niro) purely on practical rather than aesthetic issues. Let's face it I also had an MG5 pre-facelift, hardly a looker in most people's eyes and prior to that the ZS EV, equally hardly a stunner. BE (before EV's) I had a Toyota Avensis...... I see a personal trend here..... I think I care more about how it looks/feels inside than outside as that's where my time is spent.

@Archev Bobby Llewellyn has a review of the e-Berlingo. :)

Link should hopefully start in the right place:

Aye I was watching it earlier. I’m loving the car as I find out about its mysteries. Heated steering wheel but not the seats. OTA updates ( two already) Really smooth to drive - noticeable over the five and I thought that was good. A bit down on range but then a cosmic leap in internal volume and a commanding view over most things around. Huge space for a frunk - to be investigated. Parks easier than I ever managed with the Magnette. Struggling with charging on my home dumb Rolec charger. Takes power OK at Podpoint at Tesco and CPS CCS unit at Falkirk Stadium so the car’s fine. Soooo much easier on the old back to get in and out. If one wishes to travel forward one pulls the selector back and vice versa so that’s baffling the brain a bit. There’s a button to turn the radio offfff for peace - yay. LKA etc are all there but easily cancelled if needed but I’ve found everything is grand so far. It has the app capabilities to remotely pre heat but I need more time to play with that ( and it’ll make up for the lack of heated seats )
No V2L so I’m looking for a 2+ kW power unit for my induction hob etc.
trips away being planned but who ordered all these frosty nights ??

A great day out last week....

I went back to Glyndebourne last weekend for an Open Day and I'm really glad I didn't decide to try sleeping in the car. On the way down the temperatures were sub-zero, then Storm Bert hit...

My main issue was holdups on the M6. I had to move to the northbound service station at Tebay to get a charger, but there are 12 there and I got straight on. Trentham Gardens was its usual perfect self. At Cherwell Valley two of the six Gridserves were broken, the six new ones weren't commissioned, and the 50 kw charger was delivering 22 kw. Like an idiot I waited for one of the four working Gridserves, and only later discovered that ZapMap has these chargers rated at - 69 kw. I forgot there are four chargers at Baynards Green only about a mile away, and even on 7% I could have got there. As a result of all this I was late for dinner at my hotel but they fed me anyway.

The PodPoints at Glyndebourne brought Caliban up to 100% and balance while I was at the workshops and demonstrations, and I was on 98% when I got back to my hotel in Lewes.

On the way back I went straight to Baynards Green where the bloody charger rejected my debit card but took my credit card. (Kempower chargers do this too.) Trentham Gardens was fine except there was a queue to get seated in the coffee shop, and of course going north at Tebay was fine too.

900 miles over three days.

Here's the view while charging at Baynards Green, in the middle of Storm Bert. I didn't go over to the petrol station as there's a McDonald's just out of shot on the left.

Addendum. I checked ZapMap and ABRP this evening, a week later, and I see that the fenced-off Gridserves at Cherwell Valley are now showing as operational, and all 12 chargers (excluding the old Electric Highway ones of course) are rated at 175 kw. Still a couple of broken units, but ten available rather than four. Looks as if I was just unlucky with the timing.

Went for a little road trip around the WA wheatbelt. Started in Perth and went to Chittering, Toodyay, charged in Northam and then back to Perth via Toodyay road. I could've gone York but there's a bushfire advise along part of Great Southern Highway so didn't feel like dealing with that if it escalated.

The volcanic orange is a great colour to deal with the Australian dust, just makes the car look a little matte, but she sure is ready for a good wash now.
