Had my 45,000 mile third service done today and when booking it in they tried to get me to pay £40 for brake pipe cleaning to prevent future corrosion
. I asked if this would include stripping down and greasing the brakes and they said no.
While it was being serviced they called to say it needs new rear disks and pads at about £440 to which I said yes as I was expecting this having had them as an advisory at the 30k service. They then said - we don't have the disks in stock and will take up to 5 days to get them - I am amazed that a main dealer doesn't have them in stock!
They also wanted £110 to top up the Aircon and £80 for a wheel alignment as the wear warranted the alignment check. I said no to both of these and looking at the attached tyre report I am glad I did as all 4 tyres are wearing perfectly evenly, the only thing I would do is swap the wheels front to back to even up the wear.
It's no wonder that dealers get a bad reputation due to upselling completely unnecessary work.
I will now get a quote from Cleevely for the disk and pad replacement.
