Squeaky Bum Time!

LOL i have joined a motorway in my Leaf 30kWh to go to next junction on 5% , i exited next junction and hopped on what was then an Ecotricity charger with 0%.

WOW, Chris that was definitely squeaky bum time. Good job the charger was working. 🙄🙂👍

Got to 0% and the message ‘low charge, stop safely’ literally as I pulled up opposite the charging station.
Passenger was getting a bit anxious.
I was as calm as ever, as I know my GoM has always been absolutely spot on below 25% charge.
Turtle appeared at 2% charge left with 4 miles remaining.
At 0% it was still showing 1 mile left.
This was taken after plugging in for less than a minute.
Thanks, not taken it to 0% whilst moving = (y)(y)(y)

Well, the lowest we had gone before was 21%.

The reason we went so low this time was simply that it was an unexpected trip.
We came home at 23%, expecting to charge it, then number 3 son asked to be dropped off back at his Uni digs prior to a flight to Amsterdam: he'd been offered some work there, lucky begger!

So, we winged it!!

Crikey, my teeth are tingling reading all these less-than-5% posts 😳 I get nervous when I get to 20% 🤣

Seriously, I don’t get why you would run so low?
It was a combination of change of plans, lack of chargers in the area I was staying, bad decision making on my part in the morning of the trip. Plus I was confident in the battery calibration and GoM accuracy.
Oh and the look of shock and horror on my passenger’s face - that was priceless.

Crikey. I’m sitting at 37% on my drive and no plans for more than a couple of miles every other day for a few days. And I’m still like CHARGE IT!!! 🤣

Long drive in an SR, not wanting to stop more often than necessary. Especially in winter. I've got it off to a fine art. I'm tanking along at 70 and if the GOM and Google Maps aren't looking positive in terms range/distance to next charger, I just take 5 mph off the speed.

Yep - works perfectly just like that! Just back in mine after 240 mile run 4% and 4 miles left so now on charge for a good calibration.

Hats off to you fellas!

I'm not that technical....hence my description that we "winged it"!

:ROFLMAO:

And there's three types:

Will there be one within your range?
Will it work?
In the case where there is only one, will you be in a big queue?

Have had a few that didn't work.

Had one where there was a queue....

It all goes to show that range anxiety really is charger availability anxiety.
Oh, give me a home, where the ev cars roam
Where it’s dear and anxiety plays
Where seldom is seen, that charge point on the phone
And my ev won’t charge anyway
Home, ‘cos I don’t have the range
To drive anywhere that I may
Where always is heard, discouraging words
From the guy who’s been plugged in all day

As a side note shouldn't the w be a capital W ????
