I had a similar issue. My spare glasses were rattling in the central box.

OK, I'm going to try your fix. The noise is too annoying. I was able to remove the left side plastic to take a quick look and I think I've got it, knocking on the radiator I can hear exactly the noise. Next step I will remove the glove box, but then I didn't understand where did you put the foam/felt. In the picture you marked a spot, what is it?ok, first of all, sorry for my english because ist't the best
My problem was the AC radiador and the solution was very simple, Just put two or three layers of foam.
For that, you must remove a lot of things. Glovebox, plastic cover down of glovebox, plastic cover on the left side to access to the central ac unit (mine was rigth side).
When all of those plastic are removed, you will see a big Black plastic unit, and at the botton, a Metallica box(grey), that is a high voltage radiator.
Beside, you will see a cover that are looking down, with a few torx screws, you will find it because there are two metalic tubes. Si, you must remove the screws, take of this cover, push up the radiator with your hands, and then, push a few layers of any to help to stay with the correct position.
I attach an older image with a mark where you will find the cover that you must remove. Sorry because i have no more images.

Hi, when you remove the left panel, you will see a metal object with orange cables. That's is the heat unit. You must remove that unit removing knots at the bottom and a lateral cover that is in front you. Now, you can take out the heat unit and on it top, I put a lot of foam.
And the image, it is just to show the heat unit and the plastic. That mark it was for another topic.
One more thing, I put foam at the top of the heat unit, but when you remove it, you will see another radiator.
That is what I think is the true problem. So, more foam

Hi, i attach new image..
Red X--> if I remember well, these are not necessary to remove.
1--> first you have to remove all nut at botton of this piece. That piece are the heat unit and it is joined with a radiator. So you just have to unscrew and not try to remove it in this step.
2--> when all nuts from the piece 1 are removed, now you can take out this cover named 2. This is because the piece 1 holds a little part of the piece 1.
- Now, and if I remember well, you can remove the piece 1 and the radiator. You can take it sliding towards to you throw that hole where cover 2 was.
3- these tubes, are for the another one radiator. So that one just try too push down these tubes and now you will have access to the top of that radiator.
In my case, all rattles were coming from those radiators and plastic, so with foam at the top and bottom of both radiators, all sounds dissapear.

My 12 month old MG4 EV just experienced this exact noise. Was going 100kmph and it was making a hell of a racket. Slowed to under 60.. nothing, get back up to 65 or more and it's off again. Driving me insane. I just don't want it to be something serious. Can't put my finger on it on where it's coming from. Any ideas. And no... no sunglasses in holder. It's clearly coming from the drivers side, around f the dash or under.

Reviving this thread if anyone has the same issue I did. After trying all the fixes I came across online and on this post, none of them resolved my rattling issue. For me the rattling was caused by the center plastic panel touching/vibrating against the metal pipes at the bottom. I will attach 2 videos to try show exactly what is making the sound, and where it is located for anyone else that might have the same issue.
Here is the video I try showing what/how it's making the sound, this piece of plastic is hitting the metal pipe.
Here is the exact location, it's the panel on the passenger side that hits the metal pipe. I used some foam that can withstand 100 degrees celcius. I tried putting the A/C to max and the pipes reached a temperature of around 50 degrees celcius, so make sure to not put any soft material that could be flammable or start melting over time.
Hopefully this may help someone else in the future as the sound was driving me crazy

Happy for you all who have found and solved your rattles.
I still have the same as from when the car was new. I've tried searching for the source but never found it. Pretty sure it's comes from directly behind/around the wheel (left-hand drive here).
It has subsidised a bit now during winter but it's still there. Hopefully when the car goes for servicing (beginning June) they can find the source and deal with it.
