Hi all,
So far I am enjoying our EV immensely. It's (almost) an absolute to dream to drive, takes a lot of the strain away for me and we're getting to know each other pretty well. Everything I've come across so far, is normal run-of-the-mill car ownership stuff.
However, on the last couple of journey's I've come across an 'odd' issue with the LIDAR. It has twice now disabled itself for no apparent reason.
Now it's definitely not covered up, there's no accidental leaf blocking it or anything like that. In fact, on the last journey the car had done about 100 miles since being cleaned, on dry roads.
On the first occasion, it seemed to happen just a van was pulling in, in front of us a bit close. Or so I put it down to, until yesterday at exactly the same point on the same road it happened again. Nothing in front of us and nice dry road. Whilst it might be co-incidence, I'm wondering if it's some other external influence interfering with the LIDAR causing it to disable?
Or are there any other conditions that might cause it to suddenly disengage?
Once disabled, coming to a stop and turning the car off and on again, it carries on behaving as it should without me even stepping out of the car!
Using the stalk to disable ACC and re-engage it however results in the same message appearing notifying me that ACC is disabled.
If anyone's interested as to where, it's happening on the M48 Westbound not too far before where it joins the M4.
