Sound system upgrade

The MG4 SE or SE Long Range trim, comes with four speakers (two front door speakers and two front tweeters, no rear speakers or Arkamys processing. This wasn't explained to me by the salesman. I will be upgrading the system with a TS-WX130DA subwoofer. If this goes well I be also be adding rear speakers to my MG4 SE’s 4-speaker system. If I had known this I would have paid the price for the higher trim level.

I haven't seen any other threads or videos on this so I might be a first. I will upgrade all 6 speakers in my Trophy (Luxury in DK) with Pioneers. I have ordered this:
Pioneer TS-A1600C for front doors and dash tweeters
Pioneer TS-A1670F for rear doors
Pioneer TS-WX130DA - Subwoofer

The doors should be easy. Also, the tweeters are going to be simple (see picture). However, connecting the sub might be challenging. I haven't found any instructions on how to get to the head unit in the MG4, so if any of you have tips, I'm all ears.

I have posted this with the thread already up re speakers but put it here as well.

Upgraded the front and rear speakers with Vibe Slick6-V7 6.5 component fronts and coaxial rears. I used the original speaker mounts modified to fit the new ones, you can use aftermarket spacers they need to be 34mm deep. The tweeters need the crossover to work properly. The tweeters made a big difference to vocals, horns and percussion lifting the highs to a much better place. Just replacing these is a big improvement.

There have been reports that the rears only get a low pass feed but I haven't found...

Not really.

What suits me, might not suit you.

Just put on some music you like, get up the menu and try the different options available.
See what sounds best to you.

And bear in mind that EQ settings for an SE/Standard won't apply equally for a Trophy/Luxury, as the latter has rear door speakers.

As middle age sets in you’ll. find your high frequency hearing drops off; the cruel irony is that by the time you can afford decent speakers they’re a waste of money…!

Upgrade the stock tweeters, they are garbage. Makes a massive difference. I've replaced them with a pair of Hertz C26OE tweeters

Just shows how different people think.
Personally I think the sound system in my X Power, sounds great. Only use the Radio and mostly have Smooth FM, on.
Would like the simple, Base, Treble and Fader settings though. My last car was a Mercedes E class coupe, with a Harmon Kardon set up, sounded no better than the X Power imo, and only used the Bass, Treble and Fader settings on that.

Yep agree. The sound system in my Xpower is way more that is needed in such a small cabin.

But we are not talking about the X-Power or Luxury version, the SR has different tweeters (which are rubbish).
